ICORE 2020

Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) has been organizing conventions/conferences/ seminars for more than three decades at National/International level. During this period the Society has undergoneprofound changes and has finally grown to take up the challenge oforganizing an annual event such as ICORE 2020 (International Congresson Renewable Energy) thus establishing India at par with developednations hosting international events on a regular basis. ICORE 2020covers all aspects of new and renewable energy and will focus on SolarEnergy in particular thus providing an excellent platform for renewableenergy researchers, academics, policy makers and industrialists in Indiaas well as abroad. This year the ICORE 2020 is proposed to be held atGuru Nanak Institute of Technology, Sodepur, West Bengal, INDIA.

ABOUT SESI

Solar Energy Society of India (SESI), established in 1976 with itsSecretariat in New Delhi, is the Indian Section of the International SolarEnergy Society (ISES). SESI is a multi-faceted national membershiporganization. With its long history and extensive technical and scientificexpertise provided by its members, the Society is a modern, futureoriented non-governmental organization (NGO). SESI has been servingthe needs of the renewable energy community and the Societysupports its members in the advancement of renewable energytechnological, implementation and education. The objectives of SESI are to advance, promote and propagate the useof renewable energy by encouraging basic and applied research inrenewable energy.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE

RENEWABLES : Growth through

Academia-Industry Interface

India is a developing and fast-growing economy and efforts must be madeto keep this pace of development for eradication of poverty in the country. As a result, in the past several years our energy needs have been rapidlygrowing. We need more energy to sustain the growth and bridge the gap inthe demand and supply of power. Wider adoption of renewable energytechnologies would address the energy security of the country and to meetthe objectives of augmenting the power generation in the country andproviding energy to rural areas. RE technologies can change the face ofrural India in particular by offering easy to use energy solutions within theshortest possible time frame. Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt.of India has been encouraging development and large scale utilization ofvarious renewable energy sources. Also, the Government of India hasrecently launched the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Missionimplementation of which is likely to bring about a massive transformationin the way we have been thinking about the use of solar energy till now.It is felt that there is need to have regular and more intensive interactionbetween academia and industry for speedier development and deploymentof RE technologies in the country.

SPEAKERS

As before, Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) makes every possible effortto present the latest happenings and developments on significant frontsconcerning Renewable Energy programme. ICORE 2020 is also expected towitness high intensity deliberations on the key issues of Renewable Energyamongst the leading experts of the day, including those responsible forprogramme formulation and implementation..

DELEGATES

A sizeable number from amongst the Indian renewable energy communitywill take part in this event showcasing the best of renewable energydevelopments and practices.
