iPod + iTunes

When Apple released the iPod in the 90’s it created one of the most recognisable commercials of time.

Different Versions were released over the years as Apple created a brand identity.

We are going to create our own Silhouette Image using a Green Screen and Photoshop.

We are going to learn how to:

Use a Green Screen for Photography

Remove and Redesign a background

Alter an image to create a silhouette effect

Step 1 – iVerb

Select a one word verb. It could be…

Run

Dance

Pray

Jump

Add the i in front to create your slogan e.g. iCreate

Step 2 – Green Screen

A Green Screen is a solid background that we can use to help modify images.

Choose a pose that demonstrates your verb

Have a friend take a photo of you in front of the Green Screen

Step 3 – Import Image

Import the Image onto your MacBook

Open the image in Photoshop

Use the Magic Wand to select the backgroundClear the background

Use the eraser to remove any final touches

Step 4 – Background

Magic Wand

Take the Layer off the background

Select Magic Wand

Click on the background and press delete

You should now have a checkerboard.

Use the Eraser to clean off any leftovers

Page Layout

Create a new page

International Paper, A4

Drag the image onto the new page

Use your transform tool (⌘ and t) to rescale and rotate as needed

Save your page

Step 5 – Image AlterationOnce your image is in the correct place, select the Brightness/Contrast adjustment

Adjust the Brightness to -150 and the Contrast to 100

Clean up any leftover colour with the paint bucket set to black

Step 6 – Colour it!

Select the Background layer

Select a bright colour

Use the paint bucket to colour the background

Step 7 – Finish it

Reselect the image layer

Use a paintbrush to paint some earphones onto the image

Add you iCreate slogan

Save and Print in Colour
