If anyone has a plan for a Comanche activity, send the information to Pete Morse at [email protected]. Comanches were not built to rust out, but to wear out.

Safety food for thought I recently attended a WINGS seminar presented by the Boston FSDO where they talked about a training plan to follow through the year. They suggest sitting down with a calendar and planning the various portions of a WINGS phase check list. During the colder months, attend or go on line to complete a safety seminar for one of the three required knowledge topics, and schedule the others for the early summer and the fall. In the early spring, make a date with an instructor for a check out flight, completing the airport environment / aircraft handling requirements. In the summer, get with your instructor to complete the slow flight and emergency procedures segment. Then, once the clock falls back to Standard Time, get in some night flight time instruction, working on the navigation and approach procedure segment. The net result is an emphasis on flight training and safety every two months or so, and the completion of a WINGS phase each year. You can’t get much better that that. Pete Morse, ICS #16012
