What is the Certificate 3 Guarantee?

The Certificate 3 Guarantee program is funded by the Queensland Government and supports eligible individuals undertaking their first post-school Certificate III course.

Who is eligible?

The program is open to all Queensland residents aged over 15 who are no longer at school (with the exception of VET in School Students) and who are Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

Prospective students must not hold or be enrolled in a Certificate III level or higher qualification, not including those completed at school through foundation skill training.

Students are only eligible to complete one subsidised Certificate III qualification under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program. Therefore, it is important that they take their time to choose their course carefully and look at all their options before enrolling into a course.

What is required?

All candidates will be asked to provide documents, as evidence, that they fulfil the eligibility criteria prior to accepting their application for enrolment under the program.

Additionally, under the funding rules there is a requirement to complete a student training and employment survey within three months of completing or discontinuing the qualification. By accepting to enrol into a Certificate 3 Guarantee funded qualification, all candidates must agree to complete this survey.

What are the costs involved?

Dependent on the candidate’s concessional status, under the Certificate 3 Guarantee program, all students are required to contribute to the costs of their training through a Co-Contribution fee. This fee is payable prior to commencement of the course.
