Human Resources News

Welcome, New Employee! Danny Yoon has joined the IT Team as a Database Analyst. While he was born in Seoul, Korea, he was raised in Southern California since age 1. He graduated from the University of California at Riverside with a degree in Business Administration and Economics, emphasis in Information Systems. Danny is new to the Boise area, having

spent the previous 15 years with Sempra Energy Utilities (San Diego Gas & Electric) in San Diego, California. During his first 7 years with SDGE, he was an Information Systems Analyst in their Call Center Technology group. The next 8 years were spent as a Business Systems Analyst in their Customer Service Technology Group. Danny’s primary specialties are databases and business intelligence reporting. His hobbies include playing guitar, basket-ball, golf, cooking, rooting for his San Diego Chargers, and last but not least, spending time with his family. He and his wife live in Hidden Springs with their three young children — 2 boys ages five and three, and a daughter who just had her first birthday. PERSI Statements Mailed in September In mid-September each year, PERSI sends active and inactive members a Base Plan statement that reflects account data as of the end of PERSI's most recent fiscal year (June 30, 2015). This unaudited offering provides valuable, specific information about your retirement, death, separation, and disability retirement benefits. Besides mailing statements to you, PERSI also makes them available online. Members can access their personal statement using the myPERSI button on the home page of the PERSI website at www.persi.idaho.gov. Please carefully review your credited service and beneficiary sections of your statements and report any discrepancies to PERSI' s Member Service Center at 1-800-451-8228 or 208-334-3365 from the Treasure Valley area. Reminder: The Base Plan annual statement should not be confused with Choice 401(k) Plan statements. NCPERS Open Enrollment PERSI members who are actively at work are eligible to purchase additional term life insurance through NCPERS. Assuring adequate Life Insurance cover-age is an important part of financial planning. The BROCHURE details the coverage available, and you are encouraged to review it carefully, to see if you choose to take advantage of the financial security that this coverage can provide. You may enroll for this affordable coverage only during the annual open enrollment period beginning September 1 and running through November 30, 2015. Simply fill in each section of the ENROLLMENT FORM, print, sign and date the printed form and return it to the HR Office no later than December 15, 2015. Please keep in mind if you do not enroll now, you will not have another opportunity until the next open enrollment. While considering to enroll in this valuable coverage, be aware that your insurance is automatically effective, with no medical evidence requirements. Coverage for your eligible dependents is also automatically included in your monthly premium at no additional charge. PERSI members who already have enrolled for this coverage do not have

to do anything to continue their participation in the insurance program.

Additional questions? Please feel free to call HealthSmart Benefit Solutions at 1-800-525-8056 or [email protected] regarding any questions about the coverage or the enrollment process. Continued on page 3 . . .

Important Notice Regarding the ISTARS Repository As the state transitions the court management system to Odyssey, a new statewide repository comes along with that, known as the iCourt Portal at http://mycourts.idaho.gov. It will function similarly to the ISTARS repository, but will require you to self-register for extended access. To learn more about this process, click here. During this transition, which is expected to take 3 years, both the ISTARS repository and the iCourt Portal will house case and hearing information. What this means is that if you want to conduct a statewide search on defendants, today you will use the iCourt Portal for Twin Falls data and the ISTARS Data Repository for remaining 43 counties. As additional counties transition to Odyssey, they will also subsequently move from the Repository to the iCourt Portal. To get a complete view of where we are with the transition, as well as a greater level of detail about the project and timeline, click here to visit the iCourt Odyssey project website.
