Introduction O This lesson is a English Language Arts related
and is for a Kindergarden students O Standards: With prompting and
support, identify characters, setting, and major events in a story
O Students will go through the lesson learning what characters,
setting, and major events in a story are and how to identify them
while reading. O After the lesson is completed students will take a
quiz identifying the characters, setting and major events of a
story.

Lesson This lesson will teach students will learn what and how
to identify the characters, setting, and major events in a story
Students will then watch and follow along with a story, and be
assisted in identifying characters, settings, and major events in
that story A quiz will follow the lesson, to see if they understand
and can identify characters, settings, and major events
independently The objective is students will successfully be able
to identify characters, setting, and major events of a story

Lesson Characters: O The characters are the people, animals, or
other creatures in the story. O Often there are two types of
characters. There is a hero and a villain. O The hero is usually
the main good character, and the villain is usually the main bad
character in the story. O Some stories have more than on hero and
or villain.

Lesson Setting: O One element in every story is the setting. O
Setting is where and when the story takes place. O The setting of a
story is the place and time when a story takes place. O Does it
occur in the past, present, or future? O There can be more than one
setting in a story.

Lesson Major Events in a story: O The major events are what
happens in a story, and the order in which it happens O Every story
is made up of a sequence, or series, of events. O The way events
are ordered to create a story is called the plot. O The plot is all
of the action that takes place in the story.
