The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is jointly managed by British Council, IDP Australia andthe University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations. The UCD Applied Language Centre is the largest IELTS testing cen-tre in Ireland. The course teachers are highly experienced and most are IELTS examiners.
Afternoon/Evening Courses
Details:- These courses prepare for the Academic module only.- Subject to demand there are two courses: one targeting Band 6 and one targeting Band 7.
- Course applicants must take a placement test and achieve a suitable score.- Places on the courses are limited. Students accepted on the course must pay in full before the start date.- A minimum number of students are required for a course to run.
Placement Test:- Placement tests for IELTS courses will be held on Tuesday 1 September 2009, Tuesday 5 January 2010, Tuesday
9 February 2010, Tuesday 16 March 2009 and Tuesday 8 June 2010 from 2:30pm in the Daedalus building,Belfield Campus, UCD, Dublin 4. Please allow up to three hours for the test.
- Please phone: 01-7167900 or e-mail: [email protected] to arrange a time and reserve a place.- Feedback on tests will be provided by a course tutor from 2.00pm on the Thursday following the test.- There is a non-refundable fee of €20.00 to cover the administration costs of the placement test.
IELTS Seminars
These seminars provide tuition in IELTS examination strategies and are designed to familiarise candidates with the for-mat of the examination. The seminar will focus on examination strategies and the most common task types but not onpersonal language development.
Details:
