Family Faith Formation & GIFFT (Generations In Family Faith Together)
Faith Formation is going to be all about the family this year! Each of your Faith Formation directors will hold parent meetings on Sept.9th. You will get an overview of the year and receive home packets of assignments to do each week that you will do at home as a family. You could choose to do the assignments on Wednesdays at the same time as the regularly scheduled Faith Formation Classes and make a family evening of it. Popcorn may be necessary! This will give you a chance to pray together, have discussions as a family and take in a movie from FORMED for example. Then once a month, the whole family, including newborns and grand-parents can come to GIFFT Night. We will need to follow social distancing recommendations so that only family groups interact with each other but it will give us a chance to be together and for you to receive the next month’s packets from your Faith Formation Director. GIFT Night is something entirely new: GIFFT: Generations In Family Faith Formation. Father Gregory and Kristin will give you resources, suggestions and teachings of the Church to help you form your Family Faith Life. As we grow in faith in our families we will grow in faith as a community. Fr. Gregory’s Homily this weekend will be all about this year’s Faith Formation.

Mother Teresa’s Prayer for the Family
Heavenly Father, you have given us the model of life in the Holy Family of Nazareth. Help us, O Loving Father, to make our family another Nazareth where love, peace and joy reign. May it be deeply contemplative, intensely Eucharistic, revived with joy. Help us to stay together in joy and sorrow in family prayer. Teach us to see Jesus in the members of our families, especially in their distressing disguise.
May the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus make our hearts humble like his and help us to carry out our family duties in a holy way. May we love one another as God loves each one of us, more and more each day, and forgive each other’s faults as you forgive our sins.
Help us, O Loving Father, to take whatever you give and give what-ever you take with a big smile. Immaculate Heart of Mary, Cause of our joy, pray for us. St. Joseph, pray for us. Holy Guardian Angels, be always with us, guide and protect us. Amen.

Prayer to Receive a New Bishop Praise to you, Lord our God, our eternal shepherd and guide. In your faithfulness, grant to the Diocese of Saint Cloud a shepherd whose watch-ful care and kindly zeal will continue the good work of his predecessors. In your love for us, give us a shepherd who will lead us in being Christ’s heart of mercy, voice of hope, and hands of justice. Help him to fill our minds and hearts with the truth of the Gospel, the power of the sacraments, and the desire to build up your holy Church.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, your Son and our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
