uAvionix ZPX systems enable secure platform identification with Mode 5 interoperability for UAS. ZPX transponders and receivers deliver equivalent performance to those deployed on traditional aircraft, but at a Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) for carriage by tactical UAS as small as Group 1 or Group 2. All ZPX systems are crypto-appliqué compatible and installable on UAS as small as 6 kg. ZPX transponders are also compliant with civil airspace requirements as Mode S/1090ES ADS-B transponders, simplifying aircraft configurations.

ZPX-RMode 5 ReceiverThe uAvionix ZPX-R is a passive Mode 5 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) and civil Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) receiver system which provides situational awareness of civil and military aircraft in the airspace or on the battlefield. The low Size, Weight, and Power Consumption (SWaP) characteristics make the ZPX-R ideal for airborne and shipboard deployments, as well as temporary or permanent ground-based installation. The system’s design is based on common hardware and software deployed in the AIMS Certified uAvionix RT-2087/ZPX Mode 5 nanoIFF transponder.

ZPX-SK KIV EmulatorThe Mode 5 Crypto Emulator provides customers of the uAvionix RT-2087/ZPX line of nanoIFF Mode 5 transponders with the capability to perform ground and airborne Mode 5 functional flight testing and verification when crypto appliqué keys are not available or desired – streamlining testing and field operations.
Supports all Option B functional interface requirements for Mode 5 Interrogator, Transponder and Combined Interrogator-Transponder (CIT) applications.
Allows a convenient path to AIMS 1102/1202 un-classified platform test requirements enabling dry runs for test plans in which KIV-77s or keys are not readily available.
Designed for autonomous operation. No external computer or power is required. An internal key-fill sequence is initiated after TOD is loaded.
Can be used with Digital Interrogators in un-classified UAS combat or target training with uAvionix transponders configured with internal emulator capability.
