    the supply chain more agile, responsive and

    adaptive

    Improving Supply Chain KPIs.

    The primary focus of this assessment was to find

    an alternative to the Order Tracking System

    (OTS). iGATE Patni proposed a full server

    installation of the SAP SCM 5.1 solution with a

    planned usage of the SNC module.

    The assessment was followed by a high level

    roadmap covering and prioritizing opportunities

    for the client. iGATE Patni ensured that its solution

    facilitated standardization of the clients IT

    architecture as well as addressed its need for

    information visibility across the supply chain

    including contract manufacturers in the Far East.

    The solution ensured transparency over:

    Status of finished goods inventory at the

    vendors site

    Interim status of goods being manufactured

    by vendors

    Near real-time reporting to the client to

    enable planning

    Support phase out of the existing OTS

    system

    iGATE Patni was involved in the complete

    end-to-end implementation lifecycle of the SNCsolution spanning stages such as development,

    testing, end-user training, piloting, and finally

    go-live. It demonstrated the ability of the

    selected solution to meet the clients critical

    requirements by means of an unconventional

    simulated pilot/proof-of-concept over and above

    SAPs ASAP (Accelerated SAP) implementation

    methodology. With the aid of the prototype,

    iGATE Patni was able to demonstrate how the

    solution will operate in an actual business

    environment.

    The roadmap for the implementation of the

    proposed solution extended across all theclients supply chain locations and covered

    aspects like schedule, cost, and scope. It also

    included a list of opportunities for

    improvements in the clients supply chain

    ecosystem based on iGATE Patnis Assessment

    Discovery initiative. A train-the-trainer approach

    was adopted to train contract manufacturers to

    improve asset building and engage in practical

    hands-on activities. Before the go-live stage, the

    OTS as well as the SAP SNC solution was run in

    parallel for three months to acquaint users with

    the new system while ensuring unhindered

    business operations.

    visibility into inventory details and requirements

    from its manufacturers. The client was able to

    leverage existing investment in SAP software to

    drastically improve response time from vendors,
