Terms and Conditions

1. Everyone who wishes to be a member must complete an application form.

2. Membership does not reserve your place at any event. You must RSVP for each individual event, spaces may be limited.

3. Events are for residents and members only.

4. Forms that are not correctly completed will not be accepted.

5. Full membership cost must be paid with application. IHD Office has EFTPOS and Credit Card facilities. We do not accept cash.

6. IHD Management reserves the right to refuse membership and or admittance to events without giving reason.

7. IHD Management may suspend or cancel membership at its discretion.

8. Membership fees are non-refundable however you may cancel your membership at any time.

9. You must use and respect the property of others and that of International House Darwin at all times.

10. Semesters are based on IHD residential contracts, see http://www.cdu.edu.au/nfih/apply.html.

11. Members must follow Charles Darwin University’s by-laws and International House Darwin’s rules of conduct. Please refer to www.cdu.edu.au/nfih/conduct/index.html

iGrow Membership

Introduction

International House Darwin (IHD) is the on campus student accommodation. In addition to accommodation, IHD hosts events, workshops, activity nights, excursions and tutorials through our program iGrow.

iGrow is a personal development program created by IHD that strives to create a unique social and cultural international community. The program has five key growth areas:

• Professional Experience

Members receive a range of resources and services designed to help write job applications, prepare for interviews and aims to maximise the potential of student internships and placements.

• Academic Development

Members are provided access to a range of services aimed to develop academic skills and accelerate learning.

• iGrow Location

This is an opportunity for members to learn about Darwin and its surrounding area while socialising with other students at the same time.

• Cultural Experiences

IHD holds a range of cultural events throughout the year aimed at creating experiences for our international and domestic students to develop inter-cultural skills and learn about the traditions and beliefs of other students.

• PersonalWellbeing

IHD provides a wellbeing program that includes activities and sessions related to social engagement, support services, healthy living and fitness.

Benefits

As a member you can enjoy a large range of events, activities, sport and hobbies in a safe, friendly and fun environment. Most activities are free as part of your membership, however a small fee is charged for some. We aim to keep the costs as low as we can to ensure that you can participate in as many as possible.

You will be added to our mailing list and emailed events as they come up. You can also Like us on Facebook to keep up to date with all our events, check out the photos from events you have attended and keep in touch with fellow students.

How to apply

To apply simply fill in the attached application form, read the terms and conditions and go to IHD office with your payment and form to finalise your application.

Types of membership are:

• $30–1semester

• $55–2semesters
