With the IHM Empowerment Fund we impact the world, our nation and our local community with 1% of our Sunday collections EVERY YEAR. We give from Africa to downtown Cincinnati, from Nicaragua to Louisiana, from the Philippines to Price Hill.

Project Education supported 196 students in Batahola this year and nearly 2,800 students in the last 10 years.

Rummage Sales for our twinning communities have raised over $180,000!

Almost $10,000 and 245 bags of gifts from the Giving Tree were donated in 2017.

1000’s of diapers have gone to local agencies.

$1,000’s given to the Rice Bowl collection.

Almost 300 people traveled to Africa, Central America as well as 100’s to Stanton, KY to offer help.

Racetrack Ministries have fed jockeys, back track personnel and the homeless.

Kairos Prison Retreat shared the Good News over cookies.

4,000 Crosses hammered in for the cemetery of the innocents.

Hundreds of volunteer hours for Scouting programs.

Vocations are fostered with 2 priests, 3 men in formation, 7 deacons and a transitional deacon with 1 more in formation for the diaconate.

20 Students from IHM have graduated the Lay Pastoral Ministry program with either a Master’s Degree or certificate.

They serve, lector, bring up the gifts, and sing for our PRP liturgies and parish Masses.

ANNUAL STEWARDSHIP PROJECTS IHM SCHOOL

Preschool: • Participated in the Thanksgiving SEM collection of personal care items• Coat drive during December.

Kindergarten:• Classroom Advent Buddies• Cards for CRHP participants• Thank You Cards for Parent Classroom Volunteers• New Children's Books collection for Children's Hospital• Purchase a book for children's hospital. A representative from children's hospital comes right before Christmas break to collect the books and talk to the children about how their donation helps. • Make bologna and cheese sandwiches for the soup kitchen every Tuesday during the season of Lent. The sandwiches are very helpful because the soup kitchens rely on donations for the lunch meal.

1st grade: • Halloween Candy Collection • Christmas Toy Drive Donations went to Hope Emergency - a program started and run by Religious Sisters which services those in need in Highland County, Adams County, etc.)• Earth Day Retreat Litter Pick-Up One aspect of our Earth Day Retreat was cleaning the grounds around IHM and planting flower baskets around the campus.• The 8th and first grade did a service project together in September. We made take-a-way bags for Ronald McDonald House. The student council supports Heart to Heart and Catholic Social Services with its monthly collection.

2nd grade:• 2nd grade made blankets with our fifth grade prayer buddies. We sent them to the Baby Hearts project. • Donated Halloween candy

3rd grade:• Third Grade has a yearlong project to make Personal Health Care Kits. We ask for donations of soaps, shampoo, etc. like people get when they travel and stay at hotels. Near the end of the year the students make "Thinking of you" type cards and then they sort and bag the items. We generally make about 300 kits. They are then donated to various agencies. Last year they went to Our Lady of the Mountains. • Valentines Day we make the blankets for children in the hospital. • Hands Against Hunger trip

4th grade:• Cookies and Carols • Books to Children's Hospital• Craft sale, proceeds went to Ronald McDonald House• Veteran's day cards to Raymond Walter Hospital for veterans• Volunteered at Matthew Ministries.• Giving Tree Tags

MEETING THE NEEDS OF ALL STUDENTS

DISCIPLESHIP TLC—Thriving Learning CommunityThis program focuses throughout the year on all the gifts God has given us and all that is BEST in our students, including his or her character strengths and how they are used in school, with friends, and in the community.

Christ CommunitiesOnce a month they gather with their “school family” which is comprised of their siblings and other students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Each Christ Community family has approximately 25 students and they explore our Catholic Identity each month, taking a deeper dive into our faith in an engaging lesson involving teamwork.

ACE—Achieving Crusader ExcellenceDuring the 2014–2015 school year, a newly implemented Response to Instruction program began. ACE—Achieving Crusader Excellence—is a block of time which occurs three times a week for 30–40 minutes in grades 3–8. Based on data gathered throughout the year, grade level teams of teachers identify skills that each individual student could benefit in developing or enhancing.

Student Services DepartmentImmaculate Heart of Mary is a student-centered community. IHM recognizes that every student has unique learning strengths and challenges. The Student Services Department at IHM provides several specialized services that support the individual needs of all students.

ExCEL ProgramIHM’s academic enrichment program is offered to our students in grades three through eight who have been identified as gifted. The curriculum and instruction are specifically designed for the needs of this student population.

Catholic School of Tomorrow AwardIn 2013, IHM School was again named a Catholic School of Tomorrow in the Award Category of Stewardship and Social Justice. Our school wide and grade level local and global stewardship projects involve opportunities not only to provide service to others, but to get out in the community and demonstrate students’ commitment to treat all with compassion, dignity and justice.
