STATEMENT OF INTEREST

In the early 1960’s President Kennedy predicted that Henderson, Nevada was a “City of Destiny”. Ihave grown to realize that this was an extremely accurate prediction.

In the past ten years, as a resident of Henderson. I have learned first hand how dynamic and vibrantour city is, and how in 2017 we are on the threshold of an even greater future.

I have relocated to Henderson as a retiree from New York. Throughout my life I have tried to bringa positive “quality of life” to my fellow citizens and I believe that I can continue this dedication tothe community I now call home.

As the Ward II Representative of the Henderson City Council, I would focus on a series of areas thatare needed to fin-ther enhance our quality of life while bringing greater economic and socialprosperity to our citizenry,

First and foremost we have to have a strong and dedicated police force; one that is both a protectorof our laws and at the same time, sensitive to the varying needs of our people. I would work toprovide the needed funding and equipment to ensure these goals.

Maintaining a fire department that can keep up with our increased population growth in Ward II dueto the growth in both master communities and the rental developments.

With this population we will see increased business development. In Ward II in the coming monthswe will be seeing a new COSTCO, Turano Bread Company, as well as a myriad of retail malls! Iknow that I can be the conduit for even greater growth. I have spent most of my adult life reachingout to people in a quest to bring people together; I now want to help bring business and residentstogether in Ward II.

I am a strong advocate for excellence in our schools and my many years in both public and privateeducation makes me well-suited to work alongside of our teachers and administrators as we begin tocreate our new school districts.

Infrastructure, traffic control, parks, safety codes, sanitation, and communication will all need to beaddressed as our city moves forward. All of these areas contribute to an improved “quality of life”. Iacknowledge and understand our present and future needs and I am eager to address them. I have theexperience, and the dedication to fulfill the duties of the Ward II Council member and look forwardto having the opportunity to serve the people of Henderson: “Our City of Destiny”
