was to give the participants an overview of public administration, structure, functioning of Indian government and administration and the understanding of contemporary governance issues. Prof. C. Sheela Reddy and Dr. Mamta Pathania coordinated the programme.

National Seminar on Consumer Protection & Food Safety

The Centre for Consumer Studies (CCS), in collaboration with the Department of Family and Community Resource Management, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara organised a two-day National Seminar on Consumer Protection & Food Safety from September 7-8, 2018. The seminar was attended by more than 100 participants including teachers, students, researchers, and Members of VCOs. It was organised with an aim to bring consumers, producers, government, NGOs and educational institutions on a common platform to discuss various issues and challenges regarding food safety. The seminar was coordinated by Prof Suresh Misra and Dr. Sapna Chadah.

National Seminar on Consumer Protection in e-Commerce and Digital Era

The Centre for Consumer Studies (CCS), in collaboration with Department of Law and Department of Commerce, Central University of Haryana organised a two-day National Seminar on Consumer Protection in E-Commerce and Digital Era : Issues and Challenges from September 17-18, 2018. The seminar was attended by around 90 participants. The

objective of the Seminar was to provide a platform for discussions and deliberations on consumer protection issues emerging in the digital era and e-Commerce. The seminar was coordinated by Prof Suresh Misra and Dr. Sapna Chadah.

Consumer Protection Programme for Training Institution’s Faculty Members

The 23rd Training of Trainers Programme for the Faculty Members of Training Institutions on Consumer Protection and Consumer Welfare was organised from September 24-28, 2018. It was sponsored by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. The objective of the progamme was to enhance their knowledge and skill in the area of consumer protection and consumer welfare. Prof. Suresh Misra and Dr. Mamta Pathania coordinated the programme.

(PDTP) – 2017-18 for CPWD Officers has been organised from September 10- October 5, 2018. It is sponsored by the Central Public Works Department, Government of India. The objective of the programme is to share knowledge on various administrative and legal matters related to CPWD area. Dr. Nupur Tiwari and Dr. Surabhi Pandey are the programme coordinators.

Workshop on Gender Equality One day workshop on “Gender Equality at

Workplace” was organised on September 7, 2018. The programme was sponsored by the Department of Public Enterprises, Govt. of India. Dr Neetu Jain and Dr Amit Kumar Singh coordinated the programme.

Programme on Building Blocks of e-GovernanceA three-day Training of Trainers programme on

Building Blocks of e-Governance under the Project Awareness and Skill Development Program for District Level SC/ST officials through State ATIs was organised from September 27-29, 2018. It was sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and

Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. The main aim of this project was to enhance the awareness of e-governance under Digital India programme for district officials, especially SC/ST officers/ and/or officers employed in predominant SC/ST areas, by strengthening capacities of state administrative training institutes-ATIs. The programme was coordinated by Dr Charru Malhotra.

CISO Deep Dive Training In collaboration with Ministry of Electronics and

Information Technology (MeitY), Ministry of Defense (MoD) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD), the Chief Information Security Officers’- CISOs’ Deep Dive Training on Cyber Security under Cyber Security Bharat Initiative was organised from September 11-14, 2018. This four-day technical training on cyber security focused on several aspects of cyber security. Thirty-nine participants had attended the training program. Dr. Charru Malhotra coordinated the programme.

• Kaspersky Lab (US) - the globally renowned cybersecurity agency, had invited Dr. Charru Malhotra to deliver a valedictory address on “Developing Cyber Resilient Enterprises in Modern

Times” at the Delhi edition of Global Cyber Insights 2018 programme held on September 19, 2018. The theme of her speech was “Building a Cyber Resilient Enterprise with Adaptive Security Framework”.

J&K Regional Branch• The branch organised a lecture on Peace

Proces in Jammu and Kashmir on Septemeber 10, 2018. Shri Khursheed Ahmed Ganai, Advisor to the Governor was the Chief Guest. Former Director General of Police, Dr Ashok

Bhan was also present during the lecture. Faculty, scholars and students of Secuirty Studies of Central University and the University of Jammu, members of IIPA, serving and retired police officers and members of civil society attended the event.

Kerala Regional Branch• The branch organised a National Seminar on

“Disaster Management in Digital Technology: The Kerala Experience 2018” at the NSS College, Nilamel on September 28, 2018. Shri Sarun. S, UNDP Consultant, explained in detail about the 2018 Epic Flood in Kerala. During the seminar various suggestions regarding the measures that can be undertaken in times of floods were discussed briefly.

Haryana Regional Branch• The branch in collaboration with the Haryana

Institute of Public Administration, Gurugram organised a talk on “Role of Agriculture in Economic Growth of India” on September 12, 2018. The session was presided over by Sh. M. C. Gupta, IAS (Retd), former Chief Secretary to the Government of Haryana and now the Chairman of the branch. The talk was delivered by Dr. Sushil Kumar Saxena, Head of the Department of Entomology, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat. Around 80 people including members of IIPA, HIPA, retired and serving officials of Haryana Government and students from Government College, Gurugram attended the session.

Tamil Nadu Regional Branch• The branch organised a monthly meeting

held on September 15, 2018 on the topic of Public Participation in Women’s Empowerment. S.S.Jawahar IAS Rtd Hony. Secretary IIPA TNRB welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest Dr. Vaneetha Aggarwal, Professor of Management, University of Madras. P.R.Shampath, IAS (Retd.) Chairman of IIPA TNRB presented the presidential address.

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Regional Branch • The executive committee of the branch donated

Rs 10, 000 to the Kerala flood relief fund as unanimously decided during its meeting on September 14, 2018.

Rajasthan Regional Branch• The branch in collaboration with the Centre

for Consumer Studies, IIPA and Management Development Academy organized a two-day workshop on “Consumer Protection and Consumer Welfare” at HCM Rajasthan State Institute of Public Administration, Jaipur from 30-31 August 2018. Ms. Mugdha Sinha, IAS, Secretary, Consumer Affairs and PDS, Government of Rajasthan presented the inaugural address. Prof. Suresh Misra presided over the sessions and the valedictory address was delivered by Justice VS Dave, Former Judge, Rajasthan High Court.

• Further the Branch, in collaboration with the Management Development Academy and the Centre for Administrative Change organised on September 2, 2018, a lecture on “Atal Bihari Vajpayee: The Man and the Leader” by Dr. Rashmi from Delhi. On September 3, 2018, an interactive programme was organised on “Krishna’s Karma Yoga” by Shri Harish Chandra, Yoga expert. Both the lectures were presided over by Prof. Ramesh K Arora, Chairman of the branch. Subsequently, on September 4, 2018, a training seminar on “Time Management for Success in Life” was organised by the branch.

• The branch organised the elections for the office bearers of the branch for a period of two years on April 26, 2018. Prof Ramesh K Arora was re-elected Chairman and Shri HL Chauhan and Dr Satish K Batra were elected as Vice-Chairman of the branch.

Karnataka Regional Branch • The branch jointly organised a national level

symposium on Gendering Public Policy on August 31, 2018 in the Prof Venkatgiri Gowda

Bihar Regional Branch • The branch organised the Annual General Body

Meeting and Prelude Seminar on ‘Role of Digital Technology in Governance’ on October 5, 2018 in the Department of Political Science, Sri Arvind Mahila College, Kajipur, Patna.

• The Branch organised a seminar on “Indian Culture, People’s Trust and Governance” organised on September 25, 2018 in the premises of Youth Hostel, Patna. The seminar was presided over by Er Jugal Kishore Singh, the Chairman of the Branch. Sri Anand Vardhan Sinha, IAS (Retd.) was the chief guest on the occasion.

collaboration with the Department of Political Science, R N College, Hajipur. The seminar was presided over by Prof Vibhash K. Yadav former VC, Patna University and presently the Principal R N College, Hajipur. Professor S P Singh, Dean (Soc. Sc.), Chanakya National Law University, Patna delivered the keynote address on the occasion.

Tirupati Local Branch • The branch organised a prelude conference on

‘Role of digital technology in governance’ on October 4, 2018 at Department of Economics, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. Prof. R. Sudarshana Rao, Vice Chancellor, Vikram Simhapuri University, Nellore was the Chief Guest.
