    Purpose of application

To study, address and model one of the inadequate and longstanding problems of public

    systems "sanitation" in India.

Proper sanitation and final disposal of sewage is a longstanding problem which affects health

of people in India. Only 31% of people have access to proper sanitation

which accounts both urban and rural population in India. Among rural population has its

biggest counterpart. Open defecation is widely practised in rural India which directly affects

health status and signifies poor living quality of people and it also affects women safety in

country to a large extent. In spite of various government schemes of urbanization and proper

sanitation to rural people have been implemented in India, still country faces huge problem

and proper access to sanitation still a dream of rural India. I strongly believe if mobile phones

can enter into every Indian house including rural people. The proper awareness and education

among rural people to follow good sanitation procedures and proper policies by government

is the main problem in India. And also its a social responsibility for every citizen to make his

country clean and to create awareness among other citizens. Improper sanitation does not

affect rural people alone. It indirectly affects every citizen of India and also plays a role in

global health status of people. Evolution of Superbugs such as MRSA, NDM-1 and many

antibiotic resistance is already a big threat currently facing by medical society that affects

every people due to polluted environmental impact. Extensive study on such adverse effects

and modelling new technology and study on techno-socio-economic policies followed by

India will only help to overcome this issue. This is the main objective that attracted me to

join CTARA and it creates a platform to contribute my technical and social skills to Rural

development. And am currently a entrepreneur running my own Medical Coding institute for

science graduates in Chennai after two years of work experience in healthcare domain.

providing training and placement in healthcare domains. So I strongly believe my

entrepreneurship skills along with my core knowledge and interdisciplinary skills will also

play a vital role in addressing social issues. Water scarcity and no proper access for water

supply, and poor knowledge about sanitary construction remains dark side in rural areas.

Study on new technologies in sanitary constructions such as eco sanitation and reduced water

flush for sanitary purpose using vacumarator pumps with help of linked community toilets

will help to avoid construction of individual septic tanks. And also study on socio economic

feasibility of new techniques for waste water treatment such as Soil biotechnology and

DEWATS. And also study on Biogas production from human waste due to feasibility of

carbon nitrogen ratio which is already installed successfully in many parts of world and in

  • some parts of India even will significantly meet the rural energy needs and will also attract

many energy entrepreneurs and it will mutual benefit both entrepreneurs and basic needs of

rural people. Apart from technology, study and development of New financial models such as

micro credit for rural women and recommendation and modelling of tax reductions

procedures for basic sanitation goods on behalf of rural development for Nation will also play

a vital role for improving sanitation in India.
