Work GroupsPlease find your name at the appropriate table and be seated with your respective group members.

Please logon to your google account and find the note-taking sheet titled:“ILT Data Presentation Note taking Sheet”

Please select a group member to play the role of recorder, and if you wish designate 1 or 2 spokespersons for your group.

Presentation Objectives● To generate a list of best past practices for utilizing student achievement

data to inform decision-making, planning, and professional learning.● To identify valid focuses for building goals by engaging in a data analysis

activity using easyCBM (K-8).● To identify existing sources of student achievement data on the high

school level, as well as prospective sources which are/can be used to track student progress and inform decision-making by engaging in a roundtable discussion (9-12).

● To develop a short term three step action plan to be used to facilitate more consistent and deliberate use of student achievement data to inform instruction and decision-making.

● To develop a list of needed administrative supports and resources to assist with this work.

Group SharingPrompt: In what ways did you and/or your staff utilize student achievement data to inform goal setting, strategic planning, and/or professional learning during the 2014-15 school year.

*Take 7 minutes to develop a list of best practices and record on the note taking sheet.

Break-Out GroupsK-8 Administrators, as well as Dr. Tuohy, Ms. Minch-Klass, Mr. Celentano, and Dr. Ferrara will stay put for a session on the online student assessment program easyCBM.-Get acquainted with the program and engage in a data mining and analysis activity

Directors, high school administrators, and remaining supervisors will move to the semicircle of tables next to the computer lab to participate in a roundtable discussion on secondary assessment.-Develop a list of existing assessments, as well as potential new assessments which can be used more strategically to track student growth and achievement on the high school level. Enter the brainstormed list into the presentation Google Doc.

Scroll down to the Action Plan text box on the note taking sheet and write a 3 step bulleted action plan which you will conduct in your building or department(s). The action plan can take the form of actual PD or SMART goals or can simply be steps which you will take to lead staff to more consistent and targeted use of data.
