This document prescribes the minimum performance standards criteria that an
Integrated Modular Avionics hardware element must meet to be identified with
the applicable qualification requirements markings
The standards of this QR apply to hardware modules, and cabinets or racks that
host hardware modules

AM – Qualification procedures
This Section
provides approval procedures, which determine: IMA system qualification perform in order which is described in chapter 9 AP-21.
Documents Р-297, КТ-178В, КТ-254 etc. are used.
Incremental acceptance for IMA system qualification must be used. This is a
process for obtaining credit toward appliance approval by accepting that an IMA
module, application, and off-aircraft IMA system complies with specific
requirements/objectives. Credit for specific on-aircraft requirements/objectives and
assessment of all qualification works results are also needed for IMA system
approval.
The IAC AR establish Group of experts for system life data examinations and
assessments that IMA system modules, applications and system in whole complies
with applicable requirements/objectives. If all applicable requirements/objectives
for the module etc. are reached, than Group issue «Acceptance conclusion». It may
be used only in current qualification process, unlike system life data reviewed which
may be used in other qualification processes.

AM – Software components
This Section
provides one acceptable means of compliance, but not the only means, for reusable
software component developers and applicants to gain:
IAC AR approval of a software component that may be only a part of an
appliance’s software intended functions
Credit to the objectives of KT-178B for the reuse of a software component
in other appliances approval projects
