The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code has undergone many changes over the years, in both format and content, in order to keep up with the rapid expansion of the shipping industry. Amendment 39-18 includes revisions to various sections of the Code and to transport requirements for specifi c substanc-es. It was adopted by IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) at its ninety-ninth session in May 2018.
Amendment 39-18 of the Code is authorized for use 1 January 2019, and will become mandatory for use 1 January 2020.
Spanish and French versions also available.

Supplement to the IMDG Code 2018 BookThe International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code relates to the safe carriage of dangerous goods by sea, but does not include all details of procedures for packing of dangerous goods or actions to take in the event of an emergency or accident involving personnel who handle goods at sea. These aspects are covered in this Supplement.
This Supplement is to be used as a reference along with the IMDG Code Amendment 39. This volume covers Reporting Procedures, Safe Use of Pesticides, EMS Guide, Packing Cargo Transport Units, Medical First Aid Guide, descriptions of the reporting procedures for incidents involving dangerous goods, harmful substances and/or marine pollutants, and the Internation-al Code for the Safe Carriage of Packaged Irradiated Nuclear Fuel (INF Code).
