Dear People of God, Asking a parishioner what they thought of the true story I used last weekend at Mass, they told me they had already read it some time ago on the internet; I was crushed! It was to be "fresh bread" so to speak, something uplifting and brand new! The account struck me very emotionally at the 4:00 pm Saturday Mass. Surely this would be the most uplifting thing we would hear for months, I hoped. Oh well, I want you to know I desire to give you "real life" accounts, true useful events that build up our relationship with Jesus. We enjoyed a very nice "mini-retreat" Sunday afternoon last with Julie and her accompanist husband Kurt Carrick. It was relaxation therapy for us (approx. twenty-five) as we listened to her short talks on the Sacraments illustrated with personal sto-ries, punctuated with her beautiful singing. Would you ever guess that she had part of one lung removed because of can-cer and was told she would not be able to sing after the sur-gery? She has a beautiful voice. God bless the Carrick family and all evangelists. And God Bless All of Us Too! Fr. John-Paul

Scripture Reflection Questions 1. How clearly do you see things through the eyes of Jesus? 2. When is the last time you prayed to God, "I want to see"? 3. What might God be putting front and center in your life for you to see.....how are your responding? 4. Where do you see Jesus's healing at work in your life and in our world today?

STEWARDSHIP If one of you is wise and understanding, let him show this practice through a humility filled with good sense. Should you instead nurse bitter jealously and selfish ambition in your hearts, at least refrain from arrogant and false claims against the truth. Wisdom like this does not come from above...it is earthbound. James 3:13-15 As Christian stewards we know what our responsibilities are, but we must go about our tasks with humility, wisdom, good sense and truth. The proverb about giving a man one meal or teaching him to fish for a lifetime, demonstrates wisdom, good sense and truth...and if we keep both hands on the fishing pole instead of patting ourselves on the back...that "humility thing" will come into play too. When practicing stewardship...do it with wisdom from above! This week we no one volunteered to tell their "Stewardship Story", but it is not too late to tell yours. Pick up one of the blue flyers on the tables at the doors of the church for more infor-mation.
