CHURCH POLICIES

MARRIAGE - Call at least six months prior to the wedding for arrangements. Diocesan guidelines do not permit us to set a definite date for the marriage until the pre-nuptial questionnaire has been completed and arrangements have been made for participation in the marriage program.

BAPTISM - Baptisms need to be arranged one month prior to desired date. All parents are required to attend at least one Baptismal Preparation Class. Please call Fr. Kevin at 605-848-2112 or the Parish Office at 842-3520 for an appointment.

PARISH OUTREACH TRAINING Many of you have done great work already, reaching out to your parishioners, especially those who are most isolated at this time. Please remember that as part of the world is starting to ease back to less restricted interactions, there are some who will not be able to do so, due to their vulnerability to Covid-19. They may begin to feel even more isolated at that time, so please continue to reach out to them. Catholic Social Services has had some great training in how to reach out, particularly in using a two question screening tool to evaluate depression or suicide risk. If you or your team hasn’t had a chance to take advantage of this, I strongly encourage your staff or volunteers to do so. In addition, if you would like us to share some of the tips and techniques which we have learned in our BeFriender Training, we are happy to do that as well. We can customize this training as a handout, zoom meeting, or whatever fits your needs.
