Or this? Have you ever seen this?

Or even this?

Chocolate = HappinessRight? The Big Idea Background InformationIn our culture today, we always see chocolate as a symbol of happiness. Numerous times, I have not only comforted myself with chocolate but also others that just need a pick-me-up in their day. I have always wanted to explore the effects that a food product such as chocolate can have on an individuals brain.

My ImmersionWhat I DidIn order to collect the data, I did an immersion of eating chocolate every time that my mood was not satisfactory. Generally, I would eat the piece of chocolate whenever I was not feeling in the mood or motivated to do homework or school related activities. I would also document how I was feeling before and after the experience

Where? For the most part of my immersion, the setting of my activity would be within the confines of my room or while I was sitting at my desk.

At other times throughout the experience, it would take place while sitting outside of a class or various places around campus.

When and WhoBegan on February 2, 2013 at the point when I first experienced a tainted mood that could be used to jumpstart my research. Participant: an 18 year old, multiracial femaleAt a point throughout the process, I was going to try to use a friend or roommate of mine to help support my research data but the time never came to use others.

Why? You May Ask In order to personally understand the effects of chocolate on a persons mood, it was important to experience the effects firsthand. With the immersion, I could determine how long the effects last and the dimensions of the effects because I understand my own mood changes best. In the End

How It Turned Out Most of the experiences after eating chocolate proved to increase my mood either a large amount or slightlyThere were variations in the amount of time that the effects would last but they generally lasted for about 10-25 minutes at most. Ending Results From the research, it proves that chocolate does have an impact on someones mood whether it be physical or psychological. It is plausible that chocolate can have some sort of an effect on the brain.

What Does This All Mean??Since there were patterns in the amount of effects that the chocolate had, it proves that the chocolate had a direct effect on my mood. The experience showed me that there are more simpler or alternative ways in order to change persons mood even for the shortest amount of time. It shows that chocolate may have its damaging effects on health but in moderation it can help with improved attitude. In ConclusionProblems Encountered

There were limitations on how many times I could do my immersion because that a lot of times I was not in a particularly bad mood. Also there were times in which I did not have chocolate on hand to use at a specific moment. It was difficult to try to remember to keep track of how long the effects lasted and exactly the emotion I was feeling at the time.

Further Research Others should get inspiration from my work and do their own further immersion to see if the effects are the same for multiple people.I look forward to discovering the science behind the immersion that caused the experience to happen the way it did. Other researchers could do a more detailed version of my immersion with a vast majority of different types of people. Appendix Chart Used:
