IMPACT Since the beginning of the Farmers & Ranchers
College, 108 workshops have been presented to approximately 7,550 Nebraska farmers, ranchers
and allied industry representatives.
Here is what participants say… “The information presented helps keep a person thinking about what is going on around the world and not just in a local area.”

December 15, 2015 - “Positioning Your
Business for Success” Featuring Dr. David Kohl, Professor Emeritus, Dept. of AAEC, VA
TECH at the Opera House in Bruning at 1 p.m.
January 20, 2016 – “Partners In Progress Beef Seminar” at the U.S. Meat Animal
Research Center near Clay Center from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Registration, 9:30 a.m. **
March 14, 2016 - “Overcoming Challenges with Succession Planning for Families” with Dr. Ron Hanson, Neal E. Harlan Professor of Agribusiness, Ag Economics Dept., UNL at Stone Creek in McCool Junction with meal starting at 6 p.m. and program to follow.

Producers attending workshops managed over 205,000 acres. Participants (46%) surveyed indicated an average of $17.00/acre of knowledge gained from participating for a potential impact over $3 million. The 14th Partners in Progress- Beef Seminar featured a variety of industry, University and agricultural organization presenters. Participants (n=51 surveyed) managed over 10,000 head of cattle and indicated that on average information presented will increase their profitability $30.26/head with a potential impact of over $302,600
Since its inception in 2000, 72 local agri-‐businesses and organizations have
generously donated to the Farmers & Ranchers College to help provide quality educational programming
in agriculture.
Following the Cow/Calf College program, a tour of the Meat Animal Research Center showed some of the cutting edge research being done in animal agriculture.
Damian Mason, Agriculture’s Funny Man provided great tips for working with consumers who have little to no knowledge of agriculture in a very entertaining and engaging presentation!
