OUR METHOD

Our speciality is to help people increase their awareness of their own self-expression so

that they can better manage live communication situations. We cover a whole range of

communication trainings for groups and individuals ranging from Public Speaking,

Presentations and Media interviews to Influencing and Negotiating, Assertiveness and

Personal Branding trainings. Our belief is that these live communication situations are a

game, and what we help you understand is how you can create your own personal and

individual impact on the game you are playing.

The founders of our company and the landscape to our training method come from the worlds

of the theatre and TV media. In these disciplines we understand that the concept of play is

essential in all communication; we learn our communication skills as children through role play

games, as adults with our friends and family in our most dynamic communication situations we

are often in play mode as we interact with those close to us. In theatre actors learn the art of

play. We can relate this to the world of business or politics where leaders are encouraged to

develop a leadership style which is similar to how an actor prepares to play a role and journalists

are trained to play in the spontaneous moment a game of high strategy. By viewing these

situations as games we have found that we can make the learning experience of our trainings

easier, creative, memorable and long lasting. This belief heavily influences our training method

and style.

Personal evaluation and bookletsThe participants of our courses receive personalized

feedbacks from the trainers. The document is based on

the keyword(s) we give to the participants during the

course. This way the evaluation can be considered as a

personal reminder and a checklist including all

important hints our trainers observed, mentioned

during their cooperation with the participant. Since our

method is experience orientated the theory during our

courses is kept on a low level. We provide the

additional information after the course in the form of

booklets.

For every training program it is essential to provide a solution regarding the follow up of the

courses in order to ensure that the training wasn’t just a nice to have occasion but a first step of

an ongoing process. In order to fulfill these expectations we provide the following solutions for

our clients.

Feedback sheetsWe use standardized evaluation sheets to collect useful

feedbacks right after the trainings sessions. The

participants are asked to give grades and a detailed

evaluation on the course. After collecting these

feedbacks we summarize the results and forward them

to the client.

Video materialsWe record our trainings on DVD. The videos help the

participants to see themselves from an outside

perspective during the training and also after finishing

the course. The results of the trainings will become

clear and obvious just by realizing the differences

between the recorded materials. Thus the areas of

improvement will become more obvious for the

participants and therefore the key steps of further

development can be easily identified.

The aim of this course is to understand that this is a game of opportunity and orientation

and to help participants understand how they can turn the media game around to suit

their own style, seize the opportunities to create positive outcomes and stories rather than

defensive question orientated answers.

Our main aim is to get the participants to see the media situation as an opportunity for sharing

their news and messages rather than a threat that can be more like an interrogation. The

training style will be very realistic. We use a real TV studio, experienced television journalists

who themselves have the experience of being in the centre of a media storm so that different

media situations can be simulated, recorded and evaluated. They will have not only more

confidence but a range of tactics and techniques that are both practical and easy to use.

Our media training is especially appropriate for leaders who represent the company at public

events or in media situations.

By the end of the training you will be able to:

✓Overcome the extreme stress of the media so that you are free to communicate with Impact.

✓Learn how to influence the journalist and the situation.

✓Use the right language of the media – sound bites, answering techniques, messages.

public speaking situation is a game of risk and power and to help them to learn in their

own way how they can embrace the risk and manage the power they are given when

speaking to an audience.

When we present we are in a very powerful position, all eyes are on us and for that reason it is a

chance for us to really stand out and shine. This amount of attention can often disturb us

because we are unused to it. So we find ways to shy away from it, or try to dominate and fight

it, and not exploit the opportunity it gives us to really stand out and make a mark as a leader

and also to motivate our teams. This is the most common factor that leads to rather formal, flat

and boring presentations or to overly aggressive ones. So we help the participants understand

that if they embrace the power they are given and learn how to manage the risk then they can

really profit from the presentation and make it a memorable and positive occasion for the

audience. To do this the participants will be challenged and stretched with different

presentation situations to help them learn how through developing their own personal self-

expression and adapting their behavior they can become successful presenters.

The aim of this course is to get the participants to understand that a negotiation is a game

of trust and to help the participants understand how they can create and build trust in

their own individual way. We teach them to use tools and techniques to discover what their

partners need and show them how to get there.

For managers who want to become leaders it is very important to understand that different

approaches are needed when negotiating and influencing. Very often we become successful as

managers and develop a good management style that we believe will work for us in all

situations. Then as leaders we are faced with many different types of people and experiences

that require us to have a variety of approaches. There are times when it is good to tell and times

when it is important to sell and know how to sell through trust or influencing. There are types

of people who need to be influenced and others who are happier being told, and groups who

almost need to be coached. By the end of this training the participants will be able to enter a

situation and mean what they say - not just vocalize there position but be able to show their

position through their behavior. They will gain the knowledge and skills of how they can create

and build trust in their own individual way and use these more trustful and intimate

relationships to convince. Finally they will learn the art of influencing – discover what their

partners need and show them how to get there.

The aim of the training is to help the participants to enhance their personal leadership brand

and style. As we develop our careers as leaders it is more and more important for us to be able

to distinguish ourselves, our strategies and what we stand for. Your leadership style is an

important element of this as it quickly communicates to others your values and helps to make

your brand even stronger internally and externally so that your messages are memorable.

However we know it is also important to be adaptive and flexible as a leader and understand

the value of the different styles so that you can best adapt yourself to the needs of the situation.

Therefore we would like to help in two areas; to enhance the most important communicative

skills in the areas of warmth and strength and at the same time help you to identify and

strengthen your own personal leadership values and how to communicate them naturally and

effectively.

Being assertive can create many issues for us. How do I achieve assertiveness? Is it logic or

emotion or physicality? On the inside we can feel we are being assertive but are we really

showing it on the outside and being effective? During the training we focus on various aspects

of assertiveness: physical, emotional and intellectual as well. The most important point is for

the participants to experience the differences between aggressive, submissive and assertive

behavior by role-play situations and to understand the do’s and don’ts of effective and assertive

communication thus they will be able to use practical techniques in any challenging situation.

The assertive communication training is appropriate for anybody in an organization who has to

be able to communicate – giving instructions, feedbacks, handling conflicts with others.

The aim of our executive coaching sessions is to build impact for an important leader of

the organization, so that they have a strong presence in every live situation, they are more

able to influence atmosphere and finally to be able to motivate others to take the action

they want them to take through improving their presentation and public speaking skills.

This course is a series of one-on-one situations where the trainer(s) will be concentrating on

the client’s individual needs. Therefore the outcome of the courses is depending on the specific

needs of the client.

András finished the Hungarian Academy of Drama and

Film in 1997 as a TV director and moderator. While still

a student he started working for the state MTV channel

as a reporter, editor and moderator. With the advent of

privatization in Hungarian television he became one of

the leading faces of RTL, the biggest commercial TV

channel in Hungary where he hosted the daily tabloid

prime time program, Fókusz for 7 years. In 2004 he

became spokesperson for the Hungarian Government

including its successful re-election campaign of 2006.

Eventually rising to head of the communications

department for the Prime Minister’s office. Since 2007

he has been running his own consultancy company

(together with Alexis Latham) - Impact Works - where

he has delivered thousands of trainings for corporate

and public sector clients.

Since leaving the Welsh College of Music and Drama in

1990 Alexis has worked as an actor, director and trainer

all over Europe and the UK. With his Scallabouche

theatre company founded in 1998, he has directed

p e r fo r m e d a n d c re a te d c o u n t l e s s th e a t re

performances as well appearing in film and on TV. He

has continually used his experience from the

performing arts to create and run highly successful

communication workshops for many types of people

from young offenders to CEO’s. He co-founded

Dramatrix Corporate Training where he was director of

training until 2008
