Per comprendere il processo di funzionamento sia esso si
estinzione, soppressione o controllo di un sistema ad acqua
nebulizzata è necessario capire come nasce e si sviluppa un
incendio. Per questo consideriamo il famoso “triangolo del fuoco”.
Perché si verifichi e si sviluppi un incendio, devono essere presenti
tre elementi fondamentali:
- Il primo dei componenti è il combustibile, necessario per
alimentare la reazione di combustione
- il secondo componente è l'ossigeno, sempre presente in
atmosfera altrimenti detto comburente
- infine ci deve essere abbastanza calore da innescare e
sostenere la reazione di combustione.

Inoltre, per far si che un incendio divampi è necessaria dell’ energia termica prodotta dalla
reazione di combustione. Se l’emissione di questa energia può essere ritardata sufficientemente
e velocemente, la combustione tende a non avvenire.

Un getto d'acqua è un agente ideale per questo scopo,se
frazionato in piccole gocce ancor meglio. Nel momentoin
viene irrorata dell’acqua frazionata in tante piccole,
piccolissime goccioline, si ottimizza lo scambio dicalore in
modo tale che la temperatura scenda a causa delcalore
assorbito dalla evaporazione dell'acqua stessa.
La maggiore quantità di vapore acqueo generatoprovoca
un maggior assorbimento di energia termicacontribuendo
all’estinzione del fuoco prodotta dallo spostamento

Funzionamento
Il funzionamento del sistema ad acqua nebulizzata
dipenderà da come è configurato. Ci sono due tipi di
configurazioni a seconda del tipo di ugelli
selezionati:
- sistema a diluvio con ugelli aperti
- sistemi ad umido con ugelli chiusi
- sistema a preazione con ugelli chiusi

In questo caso le tubazioni sono vuote e il sistema viene attivato elettronicamente al consenso della rivelazione corrisponde l’apertura di una valvola che consentirà il passaggio dell’acqua nella rete di distribuzione per poi essere frazionata in micro gocce dall’ugello nebulizzatore.

Sistemi a umido
Questi sistemi non necessitano di una rivelazione elettronica, il funzionamento del sistema è demandato all’elemento termosensibile montato sull’ugello nebulizzatore. In questi sistemi l'acqua è in pressione nelle tubazioni tra i 25 e i 30 bar.
La scarica dell'acqua è impedita perché gli ugelli sono
sigillati da un bulbo tarato ad una specifica
temperatura. Quando si verifica un incendio, la
temperatura aumenta provocando lo scoppio del
bulbo termico e la conseguente fuoriuscita dell’acqua
nebulizzata dall’ugello nebulizzatore.

In presenza di ugelli chiusi, il sistema di
preallarme coniuga le caratteristiche dei due precedenti sistemi, aggiungendo una misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva: i sensori elettronici attivano l’impianto riempiendo i tubi di acqua in pressione, ma questa non viene rilasciata se non dalla definitiva rottura del bulbo termico dell’ugello nebulizzatore.

Per assicurare la fornitura dell’acqua alla giusta pressione per essere nebulizzata agli ugelli Water-
Mist si utilizzano due tipi di sistemi:
Bombole di azoto che pressurizzano bombole contenti acqua (UAC). Questo genere di alimentazione è utilizzato nei piccoli sistemi e nelle applicazioni locali generalmente con ugelli aperti, la capacità delle bombole contenenti acqua genera il tempo di intervento. L’obiettivo di questo sistema in considerazione del tempo limitato di funzionamento è quello di generare una estinzione o soppressione dell’incendio.

Pompe volumetriche abbinate a motori elettrici o diesel (UAP), soluzione valida per tutti i tipi di sistemi con ugelli aperti o chiusi ed il tempo di intervento prevedendo un piccolo rincalzo ad una riserva base è praticamente illimitato. Alla richiesta di intervento, pompe volumetriche aumentano la pressione dell’acqua fino a circa 160 bar. Questa pressione, sufficiente per compensare la perdita di pressione nella rete di distribuzione fino agli ugelli più lontani, genera all’erogatore con una pressione variabile tra i 100 ed i 120 bar la corretta dimensione delle gocce, base per una corretta tecnologia water mist.

Da sempre, l'acqua è considerata un bene limitato.
L’innovativo sistema WATER MIST ha ridottoridottoridottoridotto di un decimo, rispetto ai sistemi tradizionali sprinkler e diluvio, la quantità di acqua da utilizzare nella protezione antincendio, mantenendo la medesima, in modo da utilizzare al meglio questa risorsa.

Spazi più ridottiAcqua risparmiata grazie al sistema di RG W-FOG, significa anche che sia il sistema di pompe che i serbatoi d'acqua possono avere dimensioni più ridotte.
Alta repressione e potere estinguente
Grazie all’alta pressione, la superficie attiva d’azione dell'acqua nebulizzata è maggiore rispetto ai sistemi tradizionali con un più elevato tasso di scambio termico e una più alta efficienza.
Rapida riduzione della temperatura e del pericoloGrazie alle piccole dimensioni e alla distribuzione uniforme delle goccioline, l'energia termica viene assorbita in modo più efficiente, abbassando la temperatura fin dai primi momenti di combustione.

Applicazione locale
Gli ugelli sono progettati per generare la scarica
dell’acqua su un pericolo specifico e la sua conseguente
estinzione, con prestazioni ottimali e costi inferiori

Tubazioni più piccole
Il sistema di WATER MIST utilizzando molta meno acqua rispetto agli altre tipologie di impianti di conseguenza le dimensioni della rete di distribuzione risultano essere più piccole generando una riduzione di peso sulle strutture.

Opportunità
Il sistema di acqua nebulizzata RG W-FOG è la migliore soluzione possibile e l’unica tecnicamente valida per un gran numero di applicazioni. Questo sistema consente la protezione di grandi recinti impossibile con altri sistemi. È possibile effettuare una protezione locale in una zona a rischio senza limiti fisici. Inoltre semplifica l'installazione del sistema antincendio.
In caso di estinzione, i sistemi di nebulizzazione di acqua contribuiscono i seguenti vantaggi rispetto alle altre:
• L'acqua utilizzata come agente per raffreddare le superfici calde, evita il riaccendersi del fuoco dopo che è stato spento.
• le perdite sono notevolmente ridotte.
• Questi sistemi garantiscono la sicurezza delle persone, perché l'acqua è innocua e, in caso di incendio la nebbia ha effetto positivo di lavaggio nell'atmosfera di fumi e particelle dannose.

Remarks• Obstruction inside the enclosure:
• The water mist has not the same behavior as a gas.
• Therefore we shall locate the nozzles taking into account theobstructions.
• Enclosure openings:• The proximity of the openings with the fire can affect negatively
because it allows the entry of fresh air.
• These openings shall be considered during the design of the watermist system.
