Powder Horn is Scouting’s high adventure resource management
course for Venturing Advisors, Boy Scout Leaders, and older youth.
This Powder Horn course is held over two weekends.

It is the best training you will ever take! You get to try EVERY activity!
What to Expect Each Weekend
Weekend 1:The course will start on Friday morn-ing at Camp Hi-Sierra near Sonora. We’ll experience cooking, mountain biking, fishing, archery, and more with watersports at beautiful Pinecrest Lake.
Weekend 2:The course will resume at Camp Chesebrough in the Santa Cruz Moun-tains for another weekend of fun filled activities. We will be traveling to Camp Cutter for High and Low COPE, go-ing to the Bay Area for scuba div-ing, shooting guns at the Los Altos Rod and Gun Club and much more!
*Optional Trip!Between weekend 1 and 2, there will be an optional 4 day trip in Yosemite National Park. We will tour the valley, hike the domes in Tuolome Meadows, and much more! Have a blast relaxing in the heart of California’s most famous National Park. There will be an addi-tional fee for this trip, but it is worth it!
• Must be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America
• Adults must have earned a trained strip for their position
• Youth must be 14 years or older or a member of a Venturing Crew
• Youth must have completed the required leadership training for the unit they are registered in (ILSC/ILST or NYLT)
• Be able to meet the requirements of BSA Class III physical in a back-country environment
