They had a blast! Not only did they free skate, but they played video games, ate snacks at the canteen, won priz- es, and ended the visit doing the limbo! Student Qualifies for Region Four Junior Concert Band

Congratulations to Crystal Waymyers. Crystal participated in the

All-State Region Band auditions on January 7, 2014, at Summer-

ville High School. Crystal ranked 12th out of all Junior Band tuba

players. As a result, she had the honor of sitting First Chair in the

Junior Concert Region Band Clinic at Charleston Southern Univer-

sity in Charleston, SC on Saturday, February 22, 2014. Other stu-

dents auditioning and receiving a rank were Gregory Evans-Pryor,

who ranked 38th out of all 9th and 10th grade percussionists and

Ethan Baxter, who ranked 65th out of all Junior Trumpets. Other participating students were Jayla

Young, Destany Benjamin and Erikqua Dash.

Mr. Cameron’s seventh graders enthusiastically participated

in their first frog dissection. Armed with safety gear and dissecting

tools, students prodded, poked, sliced and diced their target while fol-

lowing the explicit instructions of their dissection class guide. Much to

their amazement many discovered that their frogs were carrying their

last meals of beetles and flies. The ultimate goal of the scientific pro-

cess is to help the students understand the body and the wider world.

Racial Harassment Form A Racial Harassment form is now available to be used by any employee or student who has observed or been

subject to racial harassment. The incident should be reported as accurately as possible. The Racial Harassment

form can be found on the North Middle High School website at http://nmh.ocsd5.net/ under the Guidance

link and under the Forms link. Upon completion, the complaint form should be submitted to an NMHS ad-

ministrator.
