If you’re planning a ski vacation to The Chalet at 11º East Obergurgl and want to take the opportunity to improve your ski skills, read on for our tips on how to make the most of your timeon the mountain. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or expert skier, there is always room for improvement and the pure satisfaction that comes along with reaching the next level! Here are our tips for improvement:

1. Hire A Ski Instructor

This may seem like an obvious solution for beginners, but intermediate and expert skiers also stand to benefit from the knowledge of a ski professional. Instructors will help you improve yourtechnique; the most important component to effective, injury-free skiing. When your technique improves and you can feel the difference, your confidence also gains a boost, creating noticeable results in your overall performance. Still not convinced? 2. Ski With Better Skiers

Though it may seem daunting, skiing with more experienced skiers is one of the best ways to improve your own skills because you are motivated and challenged to be better. 3 seasons ago, I found myself on the slopes, weekend after weekend, with skiers that were much stronger and faster than me. I was always the last one down the mountain and the most tired at the end of the day. Over time, the observation of my ski crew’s advanced technique, coupled with the constant push to go faster, resulted in the biggest advancement of my ski skills to date.

3. Try The Funslope

Obergurgl now boasts its own funslope. This is a distinct area within a ski resort with grounds that are a hybrid between a slopes, snowpark and cross. The track is conducted as slope where you’ll find a combination of elements that are similar to those in a beginner snowpark. Trying out the funslope is a great way to work on your technique and personal ski style in a super fun environment. The best part is that anyone from beginner to expert level skiers can participate!

There are Butter boxes, curved rainbow, jibs, and jumps to keep you amused and test your skills!

4. Improve Your Overall Fitness

Increase your overall strength and speed on the sloped by getting fit! Specifically, try interval training which is simply doing a series of low-high intensity exercises, alternating bursts of high intensity with periods of lighter work and rest. The best part of this routine is that you don’t needany special equipment and you’ll burn more calories in less time at the gym. The results on the mountain will be clear: better aerobic capacity and the ability to ski for longer periods of time at a faster speed.
