It gives me immense pleasure to know that St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College is organizing
2nd International Conference on “Global Opportunities and Challenges in Commerce” from 19th to
21st January 2018 and the proceedings of the Conference with ISSN and also ISBN number is also

In the present complex, critical and competitive global environment, it is a challenging task to
ensure trust on the accounting practices, financial strategies, banking and insurance policies, and
management practices, due to the abuse of standards, gaming of capital requirements etc.
The internet exploration, radical transparency, ecological overshoot, climate crisis, financial
complexity and higher stakeholder expectations made the accounting, finance and management
functions tough, which necessitate focusing on various dimensions of business models, and the
commercial prospects of the enterprises with which they engage.
A critical and comprehensive deliberations are required to arrive at comprehensive and
effective practices to grow in a sustainable way, aiming at restoring the trust and ensure faith in policies
and practices.
In this context, Department of Commerce of St. Joseph’s Degree & PG College has taken up a
step forward in initiating the deliberations on the issue, by organizing the Conference. As the College
excelled in quality education, this effort may stand as a notable event.
I wish all the best and congratulate the organizers of the Conference.
