    Presidents Report

Welcome to the New Year, may this year 2016 be a great yearfor you and your families. A lot has happened in the interven-ing time from our last meeting on 17 December. Thanks to thepersistent negotiation skills of Peter Flude we were able tohave the Beaumaris Farmers Market on Saturday 9 January. Iwould like to thank everybody who made this come together at

very short notice, and also those who willingly volunteered.Peter only managed to finalise permission to run the market onChristmas Eve, so it was fantastic that members, partners andfriends made themselves available.

News from James is that, even though the attendance wasdown a bit, the traders who were there did very well, stayed forlonger than usual and were very happy with the days trading. As Heather wrote:

Although many regular customers are away on holi-day, and the BBQ was not fired up, the overall re-sult from the gates and the raffle was fantastic.

The result confirms just how much people in the localcommunity enjoy and look forward to our regularmarket days. Thanks also to Peter Arnold, our RFM man, for ar-ranging for 40 or so traders to set up shop at veryshort notice.Peter Flude deserves a medal, or possibly a knight-hood, for his diplomatic efforts to secure the site atSandringham College for our Farmers Markets untilat least June 2016.Great team effort everyone, your hard work is muchappreciated, it's all for our Rotary projects.

Megan put together one of her famous raffle hamper prizes.

Through all the efforts of our dedicated members, we wereable to provide another $3000 approximately for Rotary giving.Well done all.

We were able to have our usual BBQ on Wednesday, 13 Janu-ary, but due to the heat, those who were going to couldnt playgolf. It just shows how much we enjoy each others companyas we seemed to still find plenty to talk and laugh about, aswell as eating and drinking.

It was terrific to see Chris Martin again and also to help enjoyKerries birthday courtesy of Geoffs foresight; the cake wasdelicious.
