Instead of chips you will be using your own pennies to cover the card.

If the caller calls “King of Diamonds”, and you have what was called, you will place a penny on the “King of

Diamonds”, and so on and so forth. A bowl will be passed around to empty pennies from losing

players’ board and then given to the winning player.

► The objective of the game is to obtain five squares in a line, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. ► Distribute the Pokeno boards among all the players, each player will have 20 Pennies, except the caller. ► Caller will pick one card at a time and announce the rank and suit of each aloud. For instance, you must say "Ace of Spades", and not just "Ace" or "Spades". You should be very clear while announcing a card to avoid further confusion. ► If players possess the announced card on their board, they must place a penny over it. ► Draw and announce cards until one of the players completes the five-in-a-row sequence, and calls out Pokeno. He/she wins and plays as the game caller in the next round.

Virtual Book Club On LifeSpan Website At

(lifespanpa.org)

Joining A Book Club May Be The Secret To A Longer Life

Retirees who had two group memberships prior to retirement had a

2% risk of [premature] death in the first 6 years of retirement if they

maintained membership in two groups, a 5% risk if they lost one

group and a 12% risk if they lost both groups. Furthermore, for every

group membership that participants lost in the year following retire-

ment, their experienced quality of life 6 years later was approximately

10% lower.

Whether you know it or not you could still be at risk of losing the all-

important social connections that book clubs maintain. Moving to a

new city, going through a break-up or divorce, losing a relative, or

taking a new job can all cause you to drop regular contact with your

friends and family or a pandemic. It's in those moments when you

need your network and losing them can deal a big blow to your

health.

What if you could travel back into the past to meet the man of your dreams at a time when

it would be possible for him to fall in love with you?

Susan does just that when she meets two ladies from Haiti while on a cruise with her

childhood friend, Lynn. Mika, the elderly of the two ladies, claims she can see into Su-

san’s soul and that if she sends her back in time to meet James, the man who Susan has

dreamed of for fifty years, Susan will learn something important about him and about

herself.

Susan travels back to the year 1962 in her 17-year-old body where she meets James, age

20, a member of a band that will one day become the most famous band of all time. Su-

san is stunned and delighted when James is instantly drawn to her, inviting her out for

tea and offering to walk her back to her hotel after the band quits playing for the night.

But much to her dismay, Susan’s 17-year-old hormones begin to play havoc with her 62-

year-old brain, tempting her towards a relationship with James that she’s not really cer-

tain she wants.

Will James end up being the paragon Susan’s always thought him to be? Or, will she learn

that sometimes when a dream comes true, that it’s not quite what you expected?

THIS PARTY IS

FOR

THE ST. PATRICK DAY

PARTY IN 2020!!!

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were forced to cancel our St. Patrick’s Day Party because of

Covid. Unfortunately we were unable to refund any monies. However, an opportunity has now arisen and we can

offer a substitution with a Halloween Party. Due to the abundant amount of tickets sold for the

St. Patrick's Day Party, there will be very limited seating.

If you did purchase a ticket for the St. Patrick's Party, Someone from the center will be calling you to let you

know when to come and pick up your ticket. This ticket will be the only reimbursement for the

St. Patrick’s Day Party. In Order to attend the Halloween Party

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR TICKET IN ADVANCE. Thanks!
