A great week at Washington Street! What an awesome week we have had at Washington Street! Wednesday night was full of fun and candy as loads of children poured through our parking lot and enjoyed a great night of “trunk -or- treating”! We want to thank everyone who helped by decorating their trunks and showing our young people and their friends a great evening of fun. Lots of guests were invited and there were a lot of new faces, so thank you! Afterwards, I had the privilege of baptizing my friend, Patrick Thompson, into Christ following his decision to follow Jesus. On Saturday I had the blessing of officiating at the beautiful wedding of two dear friends, both of whom are former students of mine from Riverside and a big part of this church family, Steven Eakes & Hannah Thomas. She was a beautiful bride and the day was absolutely perfect to celebrate God’s wonderful blessing of marriage! It is on days like these that I know I have the best job in the world, being invited to participate in moments like that! Sunday was full as well. Following our Bible clas- ses, a great crowd stayed for our “5 th Sunday Pot- luck” and I don’t believe anybody went home hun- gry. Thank you to all those who brought dishes and to those who helped out in the kitchen, setting up and cleaning up to make our time of fellowship so nice. Then, following our evening services, a great crowd gathered out at the Kilpatrick’s place for our annual Fall Fest. It was a little chilly out on the hayride, but the bonfire sure was warm! And the food, including all the different soups & chili, was out of this world! We want to extend a special “thank you” to Keith, to Janie and to the whole family for all they do to make this Fall Fest a great church event year in and year out. Thank you for opening up your home to us. Again, there were a number of guests who had been invited by friends and family which gave us an opportunity to meet and get to know some new folks. Let’s all reach out to these guests as we have opportunity and invite them to wor- ship with us sometime! Honduras Mission Update As I write this morning, Ricky Pierce and two of our elders, Allen Alcorn and Ron Kerbo, are in Honduras visiting with the three congregations we support in Valley of the Angels, Catarannas, and Villa de San Francisco. They traveled down on Saturday to meet with William Cardona and his wife as they make plans to assume the work that the Toledos begun and have been working with for so many years. I am looking forward to hearing from our Honduras team when they return so they can tell us all about William and how the work has been continuing since Carlos and Marla left at the end of August. William comes to us very highly recommended and Ricky will be able to share more de- tails about he and his family including his background and training at the Baxter Institute. The work is ongoing and God continues to bless this great effort!
