THE BOSTON MASSACRE
In the Beginning
Taxation caused tension between the British and the colonists.
The colonists harassed the soldiers verbally and physically.
While the townspeople were insulting the soldiers, someone yelled ‘Fire’ and the soldiers started shooting.
The Facts
The Boston Massacre happened on March 5, 1770.
Five were killed and eleven were injured.
The first to die was an African-American Chrispus Attucks.
Defending the Enemy
John Adams defended the British soldiers.
Later he became the vice president and president of the United States.
Conclusion
The Boston Massacre was an incident that sparked a rebellion by the colonists against the British.
A heavy tax initiated the tension between the British and the colonist.
