SolutionProblem

Go Metro

Remember when you thought $3 a gallon was outrageous?

Welcome to the new economy, where the sky’s the limit and a full tank will set you back half a C-note.

If you’re ready for a personal solution to the high cost of driving, take a look to your right.

The new economy, solved.

For less than the price of a gallon of gas (at least last time we checked), you can Go Metro all day long. What’s more, when you commute with us, you skip the added costs of parking, wear-and-tear, even insurance.

To become part of the solution, visit us online at metro.net.

Objective To position Metro as the solution to high gas prices, smog and tra;c stress

How do I load another pass or value to my TAP card? Load your card at a TAP Sales Location, taptogo.net or at a Metro Rail ticket vending machine. The pass or value will be automatically loaded to your card. There is no need for a new card when purchasing, because your pass or value is loaded onto your existing TAP card.

Do I need to tap my TAP card to a fare box or station validator every time I ride? Yes. When boarding any bus or train, tap your TAP card to show valid proof of fare. You must have a valid pass or value loaded onto your TAP card in order for your card to be valid.

How should I care for my TAP card? Treat it like a credit or debit card. Do not bend, puncture, wash or leave the card in the sun.

How long will my TAP card last? The TAP card itself is designed to last about 3 years; eventually, you’ll need a replacement card. Remember, you must load a pass or value onto your TAP card for it to be valid.

What if I lose my TAP card? Don’t worry, you’re protected with Balance Protection. Once you report your card lost or stolen at taptogo.net or 1.866.TAPTOGO, your balance or pass will be restored and your card will be replaced for a fee (certain restrictions apply). We will cancel the old card so no one can use it.

What is Autoload? Never worry about an expired pass or your value running low. By enrolling in TAP Autoload, you authorize TAP to load value onto your TAP card when the balance on your card falls below $10, or when your pass expires. To enroll in Autoload, visit taptogo.net or call 1.866.TAPTOGO.

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond

any experience, your eyes have their silence:

in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,

or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me

though i have closed myself as >ngers,

you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens

(touching skilfully,mysteriously) her >rst rose

Metro Gold Line Marks Five-Year Anniversary The Metro Gold Line between downtown LA and Pasadena recently celebrated its >ve-year anniversary.

Opened in July 2003, it marked the historic return of a rail corridor idled for more than 50 years. The last electric trains – the Pacific Electric “Red Cars” that traveled in the area – ended in the 1950s.

The opening weekend drew more than 160,000 riders eager to take their first trip on the new line. During its first full month of service, the Gold Line recorded more than 18,000 average weekday boardings. Ridership has increased since that time, reaching an all-time high of 26,338 average weekday boardings in June.

The Gold Line is now headed east with a six-mile extension to East LA scheduled to open Summer 2009. Estimated to take 17 minutes to ride between Union Station and the new terminus at Atlantic Station, the rail extension will have eight new stations.
