HISTORIC RESULTS ATACADEMY

North Halifax is now home to two of the best schools in Calderdale. The first

results from the recently created Trinity Academy have show a massive

leap in standards. The number of students receiving 5 A*- C grades leaped

dramatically from 48% in 2010 to 61% this year.

The freedoms brought to teachers from Academy status has driven up

standards to a record high. This was all achieved with the same students

and in the same buildings - unequivocally showing that it is teaching

quality that makes the difference.

Thanks to Education Secretary Michael Gove, a third of secondary schools

are now either an academy or have started on the road to conversion. This

is a fundamental shift in power

away from government and

  towards teachers. Teachers, not

politicians or bureaucrats, know

best how to run our schools.

Conservative candidate Andrew

Tagg is a Governor at Trinity

Academy.

FIGHTING FOR

BRADSHAW LANE

Andrew Tagg says “Cut the waste and

frontline services!”

BURNING YOUR MONEY!

Instead of cutting waste andinefficiencies Calderdale’sLabour-Lib Dem council isputting up charges for care inthe home and parking fees,

Consultants▪  £190,000 over two years

on Town Hall restaurantservices.

Andrew is continuing to pressure the council in to placing speed and weight

restrictions on Bradshaw and Riley Lanes. Residents know that cars are

going far too fast. As a campaigner for road safety Andrew works close with

the Calderdale Council’s SID Team and local police.

Speed measurements for

Riley Lane carried out on

average results of 41MPH.

WE NEED A REFERENDUM

ON EUROPE

DOG BAN: PENALISING THE GOOD MAJORITY Local Labour councillor, Barry Collins, proposes a complete dog

ban for 120 sports pitches and playing fields, more than 120

play areas, 19 bowling greens, 33 tennis courts and 30 gardens.

As you know most dog walkers are responsible, cleaning up after  their dog. It is spoilt by a small minority of those who mistreat

our streets and parks. We do not need new rules - the existing

ones just need to be enforced! If you let your dog foul in a public

area and you don’t clean up- rightly - you are eligible to be fined.

The simple solution is already in place.

BARONESS VISITSNORTH HALIFAX

Andrew supports a referendum on the EU. Back in

1975 we voted for the Common Market - a trading

block - not the EU.

Andrew believes that we need to renegotiate our

relationship with the EU. He feels that it is important

for two reasons:

1. To get back control of our borders. Immigration

will never be completely under control whilst

we have open borders with the EU.

2. Our businesses need to grow and create jobs

and this is being stifled by masses of anti-

competitive EU legislation.

Only a Conservative government will make these

decisions.

their say on Europe”
