The joy of the season comes to life on Monument Circle Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgiving, as 100,000 spectators come to Downtown Indy, Inc.’s Circle of Lights® presented by IBEW #481. Generations of families are drawn to this beautiful centerpiece in the cultural and geographical center of the city and state. Entertainers chosen from statewide auditions share the stage with celebrities leading up to one lucky child chosen to “flip the switch” as the event concludes with a spectacular fireworks finale. Millions of sightseers will take in this spectacle throughout the season, lit through Jan. 7. Travelocity named the Circle of Lights® one of the top five “must-see Christmas trees” in the nation. USA Today also listed the Circle of Lights® as one the “10 Best Holiday Attractions.”

The countdown is on! On Saturday night, Dec. 31 between 8 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., 50,000 revelers are expected to celebrate the New Year on Georgia Street. Bands, food, drinks and fun headline Downtown Indy, Inc.’s New Year’s Eve Celebration presented by The Indiana Union Construction Industry. And at 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 31, when in most cities the traditional “ball drop” takes place, an IndyCar hoisted high above the crowd descends to a collective countdown amidst great fanfare and fireworks at midnight.
