Fast Track Schedule for Guideline Update
(as reported in the April INC Report to the NANC)
INC has agreed to complete all FCC Order-related work to the Thousand Block (NXX-X) Pooling Administration Guidelines and Central Office Code Assignment Guidelines by the June 20, 2000 deadline.
Letter sent May 5, 2000 from ATIS General Counsel transmitting INC questions identified at LNPA & CO/NXX Workshops to the FCC is attached.
Audit Activity(as reported in the April INC Report to the NANC)
Revisions of the Central Office Code Assignment Guidelines to address audits have been completed. The document will be reissued after INC 50 (June 2000).
Seven issues have been introduced to address audits for other INC Guidelines.
UNP Activity(as reported in the April INC Report to the NANC)
INC has established a 25 page UNP Working Document from the contributions from SBC, MCI WorldCom, GTE, and AT&T.
COCUS II Status (as reported in the April INC Report to the NANC)
Question 6: Do carriers have to have a separate COCUS report for each OCN?
Question 7: If two OCNs belong to the same company and only one OCN completed its COCUS, can the non-reporting OCN delay resources for the reporting OCN?
Question 8: For SPs that fail to provide a COCUS, should the NANPA deny a request on a rate center, NPA or state basis? (To be developed by the NANPA).
Question 9: Does the calculation in paragraph 35 for available numbers preclude the PA from reporting on available numbers?
NANP Expansion Report(as reported in the April INC Report to the NANC)
INC has set June 2001 for its final NANP Expansion recommendation delivery date. The objective will be to recommend one expansion option.
Coming to consensus on a single recommendation is contingent upon responses received from NANP area national regulatory authorities by September 2000.
INC has sent a follow-up letter to the 19 national regulators regarding the two main assumption in the INC Interim NANP Expansion Report.
ATIS/NANPA are also contacting the national regulators to ensure they are in receipt of the INC correspondence and Interim NANP Expansion Report.
