In this tutorial we will discuss different options available in the Options tab in EMCO

Network Inventory 4.x.

Include Options Tab

Basic Info:

This option enables you to configure EMCO Network Inventory 4.x to fetch basic scan

information from the remote machines on your network. If you want EMCO Network

Inventory 4.x to gather the basic scan information from different machines on your LAN

check the Basic Info check box.

Use WMI

If you want Network Inventory 4.x to use WMI to fetch information about Physical

Memory from the remote machines; check the Use WMI for Physical Memory checkbox.

OS Description

If you want to include the information about the operating system of the remote machines

while performing scan operation on different nodes of your LAN then .check the OS

Description checkbox.

Digital Product ID

To fetch digital products ID of the operating system of remote machines on your LAN;

check the Digital Products ID checkbox.

Office Product ID

To fetch digital Products ID of Microsoft Office check the Office Product ID checkbox.

Multi Row Data

Installed Apps

To collect detailed information about different applications installed on remote machines

on your network, check the Installed Apps checkbox.

Execute Custom Scan

If you want to use the custom scan criteria while performing scan operation on remote

machines; check the Execute Custom Scan checkbox.

Shares

If you want EMCO Network Inventory 4.x to collect information about different Shares

available on remote machines; check the Shares checkbox.

Include Share Access

If you want to collect different information about the Share Access for the different

Shares items on remote machines; check the Include Share Access checkbox.

Printers

If you want to collect information about different printers attached to different nodes of

your network; check the Printers checkbox.

Include Network Printers

If you want to fetch information about the network printers attached to remote machines;

check the Include Network Printers checkbox.

Drive Mapping

To include information about different mapped drives on remote machines on your

network check the Drive Mapping checkbox.

Disk Info

If you want to include detailed information about the disks attached to remote machines;

check the Disk Info checkbox.

Processes

To include information about different processes running on the remote machines check

the Processes checkbox.

Startup Commands

To fetch detailed information about the Startup Commands on the remote machines check

the Startup Commands checkbox.

Program Folders

If you want to include the detailed information about the Program Folders on the remote

machines on your network; check the Program Folders checkbox.

Processors

To fetch the detailed information about the different processors attached to the remote

machines on your network check the Processors checkbox.

Network Cards

If you want to include information about the different network cards attached to the

remote machine on your LAN; check the Network Cards checkbox.

Environmental Variables

To fetch detailed information about different environment variables configured on remote

machines check the Environmental Variables checkbox.

Include User Vars

To fetch information about the user variables configured on the remote machines on your

network; check the Include User Vars checkbox.

Services

If you want EMCO Network Inventory 4.x to fetch information about different services

installed on remote machines; check the Services checkbox.

Memory Banks Info

To fetch the detailed information about the memory banks available on the remote

machines; check the Memory Banks Info checkbox.

ODBC DataSources

If you want EMCO Network Inventory 4.x to collect detailed information about different

DataSources available on the remote machines on your LAN; check the ODBC

DataSources checkbox.

Include User DSN

If you want EMCO Network Inventory to include information about the User DSN;

check the User DSN checkbox.

Hotfixes

To include information about different Hotfixes installed on remote machines; check the

Hotfixes checkbox.

Scheduled Tasks

To fetch information about different scheduled task on remote machines on your LAN

check the Scheduled Tasks checkbox.

Custom Logon

If you want to specify custom logon information while performing scan operation on

remote machines; perform the following steps:

1. Check the Active checkbox under Custom Logon node.

2. Type in the username for the logon in the corresponding username textbox.

3. Type in the password for the logon in the corresponding Password textbox.

Auto Processing

Auto Fetch

To enable Auto Fetch option on the selected machines perform the following steps:

1. Check the Active checkbox under the Auto Fetch node under Auto Processing

node.

2. Select the provided of your network from the Provider dropdown list.

3. Select the required domain name form the Domain dropdown list.

4. To enable fetching using specified range of IP addresses check he Use Via IP

Range checkbox.

5. Auto Fetch Via IP Range dialog box will appear on the screen.

6. Input the required range of IP addresses in the To and From fields.

7. Input the IP addressees that you don’t want to include in the ignore IP addresses

fields.

8. Click OK button.

Auto Update

To enable Auto Update feature for the selected machines on your network perform the

following steps:

1. Check Active checkbox under the Auto Update checkbox.

Auto Report To File

To enables Auto Report To file feature perform the following steps:

1. Check Active checkbox under Auto Report To File node.

2. Select the required event after which you want to automatically report the scan

data to file from the Process After dropdown list.

3. Select the required file format from the Format dropdown list.

System

Ping Timeout

To specify ping timeout for the machines type in the required timeout in the Ping

Timeout textbox.

Application License Extra Fields

Extra 1 Display name

To specify Extra 1 Display name for the application license extra fields type in the

required name in the corresponding textbox.

Extra 2 Display name

To specify Extra 2 Display name for the application license extra fields type in the

required name in the corresponding textbox.

Machine Extra Fields

Extra 1 Display name

To specify Extra 1 Display name for the machines extra fields type in the required name

in the corresponding textbox.

Extra 2 Display name

To specify Extra 2 Display name for the machines extra fields type in the required name

in the corresponding textbox.
