His recently published book: “Jesus’Last Night with His Disciples”, aStudyof theFirstCenturyHistoricaland Archaeological Setting of the Last Supper.” He currently directs manystudyprogramsatTheBiblicalHistoryCenter, a museum featuring daily life in biblical times, headquartered in LaGrange,GA.He co-leads tours toIsrael, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
Dr. James Fleming, Lecturer, director of Biblical Resources, LLC and the CEOof TheBiblicalHistoryCenter,a museum of daily life in biblical times, located in LaGrange, GA. Hehas lived and worked as an educator in Israel since 1974 and has taught classes in the School for OverseasStudents at Hebrew University andthe Ecumenical Institute in Jerusalem. Hehasdevelopedcoursesinhistoricalgeography and biblical history, uniquely tying the studies with the biblical text, with an emphasis on the theological implications. He is the author of several dozen notebooks and teaching materials that are an excellent help to pastors and leaders. He obtainedhis Ed.D. degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary in Texas.

Following breakfast this morning we tour Athens, the foundation of democracy. We will travel to Corinth Canal and then on to the ancient city of Corinth. It is the city that inspired two of Paul’s most familiar letters. See the Archaeological

To enjoy a reflection inthe midst of the ruins of the church of Corinth and see the pillars, steps, and public worship place where Paul preached will enhance your understanding of I & II Corinthians. The ruins of this important cultural center are fascinating as we walk along the stone paths that the Apostle Paul walked. The Book of Acts will come alive to us today as we tour the delightful harbor city of Thessalonica. We will view the old city ramparts; the newly excavated Forum, St. George Church, an ancient Roman monument which was transformed into a church and the Galerius Arch which rises overthefamousViaEgnatia.We’llvisitSt.DemetriusBasilica,dedicated to a distinguished member of the Roman army and a martyred Christian convert. KavalaisGreece’sprettiestmainlandportwithamostelegantharbor. Paul landed here with his disciples, Timothy and Silas. This ancient city of Neapolis was later renamed Christopoulos becauseitwasthefirstEuropeancitytoreceiveChristians.Wewill see the Roman Aqueduct and the ruins of the Acropolis in this beautifully located city, known since the 5th century as Kavala. We will continue on to Philippi where Paul preached and baptized thefirstChristians onEuropean soil.Wewillview the baptismal site where Lydia was baptized and visit the forum where Paul, Silas and Timothy were arrested.
