Children’s Chapel
Onthe2ndand4thSundayofeachmonth,exceptduringsummer,wehaveChildren’sChapelforouryoungermembersoftheparishduringthesermontimeupuntilthepeace.Children’sChapelgivesourchildrenachancetointeractandlearnaboutourworshipserviceswhileprovidinganopportunitytoaskquestionsaboutwhattakesplaceduringonSundayattheEpiscopalchurch.ThechildrensingfunChristiansongsandparticipateindifferentactivitiestostircuriosityandimaginationabouthowChristisatworkintheirlives.SeveralvolunteershelpthroughouttheyearwiththisministrywithMs.CandaceBaskinwhocoordinateseachweek.

Coffee Hour
Ascheduleismaintainedthatensuresthatcommitteeteamsserveonarotatingbasis,approximatelyonceevery31/2months.Theteamsareresponsibleforprovidingsnacks,servingandcleaningupafterthecoffeehourisfinished.Thecoffee,tea,andhotchocolateareprovidedbythechurch.
TheVPOD(VestryPersonoftheDay)isresponsibletoensurethatcoffeeisavailablefortheearlyservice.TheVPODisalsoresponsibleformakingsurethatthereisaninformalsnackfortheearlyserviceparticipants.

AsanextensionoftheroleofEucharisticMinister,EucharisticVisitorsprovideforthosewhoaresick,temporarilyimmobile,orpermanentlyhomeboundwhoneedcommuniontakentothem.

Fatted Calves Investors
TheFattedCalvesInvestorsareaninvestmentclubthatwasstartedbyECAmembersforanyoneinterestedinlearningaboutandparticipatinginstockmarketinvesting.ThisorganizationisaffiliatedwiththeNationalAssociationofInvestmentClubs.Thegoaloftheorganizationistoeducateitsmembersininvestingtechniquesandhopesfortheparticipationofallmembersindecidingonstockstostudyandtobuyorsell.Nopriorknowledgeofstockmarketinvestingisrequired.
ThoughmostmembersarecurrentorformerECAparishioners,thereisnorestrictiontojointheorganization.Theinitialfeeisaninvestmentof$100.00andamonthlycontributionof$30.00isrecommended,allofwhichisinvestedintheclubunderthemember'sname.ThegroupmeetsatthechurchonthefourthTuesdayofthemonthat7:00p.m.

Foyersaresmallgroupsofparishionerswhoenjoyafewcovered-dishdinnerstogetherfromfallthroughspringinanefforttogettoknoweachotherbetterandhaveanicesocialevening.Sign-upsstartinearlyfall,andthelistissplitintogroupsof6-8adultsofallages,bothsingleandmarried.Singlepeopleoftenpairupwithanothersinglepersontoco-hostoneofthemeals.Theindividualsorpairstaketurnshostingthemealsintheirhomes,withthehostprovidingtheentréeandbeveragesandtheothersbringingsidedishestoshare.ThedinnersareusuallyheldonaSaturdayorSundaynight,andeachhostinturnwillcontacttherestofthegrouptogetaconsensusonthedateandtime.
ThepurposeofFoyersistoprovideanexcellentopportunitytogettoknowfellowchurchgoersbeyondacasualhelloonSundaymorningsandhelpusstayintouchwitheachother.

TheGreetersisaMinistryofHospitality!Thegreeterisgenerallythefirstpersonaparishionerseeswhenarrivingatchurch.Thegreeteristhesmiling,friendlyfaceofAnnunciationbeforeandaftertheserviceeachSundaymorning—forregularsandfornewcomers.

Oneofthemostessentialelementsoftheprayerchainisaninsistenceonconfidentiality.The“links”areneversupposedtodiscusstherequestswithotherpeopleoreventomakeknowntothoseforwhomprayerisrequestedthattheyknowabouttherequest.

Thislongstandingprogramissosuccessfulbecauseitiskeptconstantlyinfrontofthecongregation.Theprogrampurchasesgiftcardsatasmallpercentagediscountwhichdiffersfromvendortovendor(WalMart,HomeDepot,Kohl’s,Lowe’s,restaurants,etc.)Thecardsaresoldatfacevalue.TheprofitisusedtosupportECA’soutreachprograms.ScripfundsaremaintainedinaseparatecheckingaccountthatismonitoredbytheTreasurer.Dutiesarerotatedeachweek.

Southern Comforters
Thisgroupusestheirinterestinhandworktoprovidecomfortboththroughinreachandoutreach.Blanketsareknitted,crocheted,quiltedorsimplytiedandareprovidedtochildrenwhohavebeentraumatizedinsomewaythroughanorganizationcalledtheLinusProject.Prayershawlsareknittedandgiventothosewhohaveexperiencedsomemajorlifechange(goodorbad)suchasillness,death,physicalmove,orfamilyissues.

Sunday School/Christian Education
Participantsinthisministryprovideeducationalopportunitiesfortheparishyouthandaforumforconstructivedialogueforadultclasses.Leadersarevolunteersandfollowaprescribedcurriculumfortheirclasses.Thisyears’curriculumis“LivingtheGoodNews”.
Childrenandyoutharedividedinagegroupswithtwoinstructorsineachclass.Adultclassesaretopicspecificsuchas:TheParablesofJesus,LectionaryBibleStudy,etc.

TheTemTimeLadies“AnnualTea”isafundraiserforadesignatedchurchactivity.Itworksundertheauspicesofachairman,8-10committeechairmenandvariousvolunteers.Thecommitteesinclude:set-up&clean-up,food,tickets,decoration,giftshop,publicity,andflowers.Thereissomethingforeveryone.Theticketsareopentothoseoutsidethechurch,includingfriendsandmembersofotherparishes.Everyonehasagreattime,bothvolunteersandparticipants.Wearealwayslookingformoreinterestedvolunteers.

TheUnitedThankOffering(UTO)isayear-roundprogramofofferingthankstoGodforyourblessings.TheUTOboxesarecollectedtwiceayearandtheproceedsaresenttothenationalofficeandaredistributedingrantstoprogramsthatareinvolvedwithspreadingtheGoodNewsofGod’slove.

TheushersserveinarotationonSundays.AmonthlyscheduleispreparedbytheParishAdminidentifyingindividualsassignedforeachSundayinthemonth.Thecommitteechairmanmakesspecialassignmentsforotherservices.
Someofanusher’sresponsibilitiesinclude:AssuredoorsintotheNaveareclosedassoonaspeoplebegintoenterthenavetoprepareforservicesotheymaydosoinquiet,assistarrivingparishionersfindseats,prayerbooks,andhymnalsasneeded.Verifythathymnalnumberspostedoncornerboardsmatchthoseinthebulletin.Openingthedoorsfromthenavetothenarthex&turninguplightswillsignifythebeginningoftheservice.Countandrecordnumberofattendees,includingpriest,pianistandchildren.Collectanddeliverofferingplates,makesureoblations(Bread&Wine)goupwithofferingplatesatsecondservice.
