_ +~~~~~4

This index, which appears annually in the June issue, can be used to complete an author's dates on catalogue cards and to note the date and place of death on the margins of dictionary articles. The "Supplement to 1970 Necrology" lists deaths occurring in 1970, notices of which appeared too late to be included in the June 1971 issue of Notes. In both the 1970 Supplement and the 1971 Necrology the publication year of the magazine or newspaper in which an obituary appeared is 1971 unless otlherwise noted. Double verticle lines (11) separate the magazines and newspapers from the references to dictionaries con- taining articles on the deceased.
