Success Stories
Villagers associated with the Total Sanitation Campaign shared their experiences and narrated Success Stories in the program organized by DRDA, Sirsa.
This helped DRDA to motivate and inspire the people of other villages also who thought initially that making their village ODF would be a very difficult task if not impossible.
Fruitful Results
• Villages turned to be more Scenic and Livable.
• A significant Decline in the Diseases caused due to Unhygienic Conditions.
• Villagers are feeling very happy over the improved Sanitary Conditions and Healthy Environment.
• Students are now Aware about Importance of Cleanliness (Swachchta).
Impact of TSC can now be judged from the very fact that the women of rural areas have started thinking of not only hygienic conditions of environment but their personal hygiene also.
They have started using Clean Pads instead of dirty & unhygienic cloths at the time of monthly cycle which used to be a major cause of diseases.
Not only this, they have even started to make Clean Pads under Swarnjayanti Gram Savrojgar Yojna (SGSY) of Government of India.
All the villagers have applauded & welcomed the steps taken by DRDA, Sirsa in the direction of linking personal hygiene of women with the self employment.
Impact of TSC
What FUTURE Awaits……
• Regular Monitoring Essential to Freeze the Change and to Stop Reversal of Process.
• Researches can be conducted for Impact of ODF on other Social Parameters.
The Ladder to Civilization
The whole district can proudly say that it has actually attained freedom from the age old bars & has now captured the hygienic environment.
This is just the Beginning of a New Era and the
Ladder to Civilization for the Community.
The Last Wish To Begin With…
We made a beginning from a village, covered a cluster of villages, reached blocks & successfully completed the District having each and every village as Open Defecation Free (ODF).
We wish it should cover the State….
then Country….
and finally the Whole of the World….
To make this World a better Living Place for all
LIVING BEINGS.
