The state of Andhra Pradesh, located along the eastern coast of southern India, is creating a vibrant and investor friendly
business environment and has been rated the top state in the country for ease of doing business both by World Bank and
Government of India. An economic development plan is framing up in Andhra Pradesh through enablers like quality
power, industrial land banks and excellent connectivity. Within Andhra Pradesh, the capital city Amaravati is dubbed as
the new urban definition of India in the making. Taking cue from Singapore model of city development, Amaravati will be
developed as a collaboration of 9 themed economic cities comprising government, finance, health, tourism, electronics,
knowledge, justice, sports and media. As the city and the state is simultaneously developing, there are good business
opportunities for Singapore construction players to tap on in Andhra Pradesh, particularly in the 6.84sqkm start-up area in
Amaravati which will likely be developed by Singapore firms.
