Indigenous Center for Art and Knowledge ConceptConcept Overview – Project Profile

Imagine as you look across from the south side of the river to what will be a beautiful symbol of the past, present, and future of Edmonton.

The Edmonton Rossdale Flats area was once referred to as a‘Pehonan’.

It was a spiritual and culturallocation that followed protocols of peace, friendship, and harmony.

Building the ICAK will connect to the renewed Rossdale area and the newly designed Walterdale bridge.

Indigenous Center for Art and Knowledge ConceptConcept Overview – Project Profile

The Pehonan was a place where the people honoured and respected each other while in gathering. This building will bring spirit, art, and history.

Project costs have been estimated at a cost of $40 million. It is anticipated that completion of construction would be in 2017. This factors in the estimated demolition time of the Terrace Building.
