27-DAY SYLLABUS

Language Arts 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, 4.2 This course is divided into 3 parts: PLATO content, Novel Reading, and Essays Part 1: PLATO COURSEWARE Website: https://ple.platoweb.com Account Login: fsd PLATO name: your 5 digit computer ID (ex: 12345) Password: fps - followed by your birthdate mmddyy (ex: fps012494) Each class is made up of units and each unit starts with a pretest. The results of your pretest are used to exempt all the lessons you already know how to do. Once you have completed the unit pretest, continue in order completing the lessons from which you are not exempt. English 2.2, do not do Unit 2! Be sure to use Internet Explorer and not Google Chrome. Users have reported issues stemming from the use of that program. Completion of a lesson requires three (3) parts: If you encounter a question that asks about something that you have not read, you may have to click “Read Passage” at the bottom of your screen.

1. Go through the tutorial. Do this as many times as you wish/need 2. Complete the application. This is the homework on the lesson. Complete this as many times as

you wish/need. Offline activities are not collected, but you will need to understand the concept given in those activities.

3. Complete the mastery test. This is a graded test. It requires mastery – 80% or higher to complete. If mastery wasn’t achieved, redo the tutorial and application and try again. This test may be taken three (3) times.

4. After completing the pretest, you may see an “E” next to some of your lessons. This means that you have proven your mastery in that particular concept in the pretesting section. You are not required to complete these lessons; just keep in mind that those concepts are still a part of the Unit Test. You can and should review the concepts as a brush-up.

5. Because some of the questions are not made for our setting, you are not required to complete the Unit Activity . It may be best to go through the material to ensure your mastery of the concepts being presented. Again, you are not required to submit the assignment for credit. If you fail the Unit Test, I reserve the right to guide you through the activity in order to retake the assessment.
