    Indoor Sensor Mat

The worldwide increase in acts of terrorismcalls for enhanced security in and aroundmass-transit stations and platforms and otherpotential targets such as governmentinstallations. Vandalism, trespass, and evencarelessness can also pose threats to peopleand resources.

A revolutionary tool to combat threats is now

available in the form of a floor-based sensorsystem, the Fiber Defender Indoor Sensor Mat. Sophisticated yetsimple, the Indoor Sensor Mat uses fiber optics to detect thepresence of unauthorized personnel or objects left in such restrictedareas as the platform of a mass-transit station, as well as the trackbed. The Indoor Sensor Mat has many deployments, includingbanks, museums, chemical depots, and moreanywhere protectingpublic safety and/or resources is a concern.

The fiber-optic mat is an integrated unit, combining sensor cablewith durable flooring material, making it easy to install and maintain. The Fiber Defender Indoor Sensor Mat utilizes components that

meet the stringent guidelines established by the NFPA and ASTM.

Comprehensive tuning and calibration parameters filter out train andpedestrian noise and other potential nuisance alarms, whilemaintaining the sensitivity to identify any potential threat ofsabotage, vandalism, or a misstep into a protected area.

Up to 100 meters per zone of protection can be covered by the Fiber Defender Indoor Sensor Mat. Sectionsmay be ordered in 9-meter (30 ft) increments, with short sections ordered to the nearest 5 meters (16 ft)measurement. Each section of indoor mat is .6 meters (2 ft) wide. The outdoor mat starts at .3 meters (1 ft), andcan be ordered incrementally by .3 meters (1ft, 2ft, 3ft, etc). The Fiber Defender Indoor Sensor Mat comes pre-assembled and can be ordered with either the FD-208R Alarm Processing Unit, used for installations requiringmore than two zones of coverage, or the FD-34X series Alarm Processing Unit, which satisfies requirements for

one to two zones of coverage. Contact your sales representative for pricing and ordering information.
