Our body is an energy entity, the meridians are mutually coordinated and restricted to each other to keep the balance so our body will be healthy. If any part of them are unbalanced our body will be unhealthy.

Energy measurement can find out which part of our body is starting to degenerate or show sings of disordering, so we can know which systems are unbalanced and prone to cause illness.

What is a Meridian? What is a Meridian? The meridians are an integral part of the central concept of traditional Chinese medical techniques such as acupuncture, and martial arts such as tai chi and qigong. According to these practices, there are channels along which the Qi or energy of the psychophysical system flows. These techniques are said to be able to achieve their effects by manipulating and balancing the energy running through a network of complex bodily patterns.

Page 9: INDTRUSTOR CLASS - HTE Americas Conferenc… · What is a Meridian? The meridians are an integral part of the central concept of traditional Chinese medical techniques such as acupuncture,

In the 2nd Century, 649 acupuncture points and 20 meridians which connect most of these acupuncture points were recognized in China. Included in these 20 meridians are the "twelve regular channels" or "twelve regular meridians. Each of these twelve meridians corresponds to a major organ, and all twelve meridians are connected to two major acupuncture points – the Ying and the Yang. There are also "Eight Extraordinary Channels" or meridians, two of which have their own sets of points, and the remaining ones connect the points on other channels.

Additional Information1. If the client just finished exercising or (maybe) if the client

walked to your business, allow him to rest for 10-15 minutes, before doing the EMD Test.

2. Wait 8 hours after drinking (water, alcoholic beverages, sodas, etc) before doing the EMD Test.

3. Wait (4) hours after any electrical treatment before doing the EMD Test (don’t do any electric treatment 4 hours prior the EMD Test)

4. Is difficult to measure the energy on seniors due to their long conductivity. Raising the EMD level a little, will allow you to perform the test more easily.

5. The measurement device must be perpendicular with the clients acupressure points in order to get a more accurate reading. ¡Practice often and become a master!

Page 25: INDTRUSTOR CLASS - HTE Americas Conferenc… · What is a Meridian? The meridians are an integral part of the central concept of traditional Chinese medical techniques such as acupuncture,

6. Don't measure the same point over and over; this will cause inaccurate results.

7. If the feet or hands of your customer are sweated, use a towel to dry them before doing the EMD Test.

8. Do not perform an EMD test if your customer has a cut or if the acupressure points are irritated in any way.

9. The best place to conduct an EMD Test is a room whit a temperature of 79 °

F and the client must have a temperature of

99 °

F.10. If your client has an specific ache, the EMD session will be

more accurate while the client is experiencing the discomforts or pains.

Why do we need to remove our jewelry? It important to remove all jewelry and metallic items. Since the test is measuring energy levels, metallic items and jewelry will interfere with the accuracy of the reading. To get the most accurate reading, you must remove these items. If you are unable to remove jewelry such as rings or watches, place a napkin or handkerchief between the metallic item and the skin. This will assure the most accurate test results and block excess conductivity.

Why do I need to use solvent? It is important to use solvent and NOT water. Although water will work, it is less conductive then solvent and might display an inaccurate reading.

Why do I have to use gloves?Gloves block conductivity from occurring through skin contact. Since the body is a natural conductor of electricity it is important to make sure there is no skin contact.
