Nylon Sheath Cables

PREVENT TERMITE DAMAGE

In areas where subterranean termite species such as Coptotermes acinaciformis are prevalent, Deltafl ex recommends cables manufactured with an additional nylon sheath. Nylon resists termite destruction due to its surface hardness and smooth texture. Termites are unable to breach the nylon layer as their mandibles are unable to grip the surface or penetrate it.

The nylon sheath is a very thin layer that is normally applied over a PVC sheath. A sacrifi cial sheath of HDPE or PVC is further applied to prevent mechanical damage to the nylon sheath during installation.

Deltafl ex can produce nylon sheathed cables up to 100mm diameter.
