The Irish government recently published its €27bn Capital Spending Plan which includes project opportunities for investors in PPPs and related infrastructure investments. This session will analyse the opportunities and deals that the government plans to bring to market with a keynote presentation from Brian Murphy, Director at the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) and will be concluded with a roundtable panel discussion examining the market in further detail and investors thoughts on the environment for infrastructure investment in Ireland.

Morton is Development Director at Kajima Partnerships Limited whose development programme has a significant concentration on PPP projects across all accommodation sectors. Kajima Partnerships act as equity sponsors and project leaders in close collaboration with major corporate and public sector clients who focus on development and investment in both the UK and
Ireland. Kajima’s recent tenders throughout Ireland include major PPP projects comprising third level education, primary healthcare and the justice sector.
Since joining Kajima in 2002, Morton has helped to develop a range of PPP projects which now have an aggregate capital value in excess of £750 million. Kajima has a long term perspective, retaining a major investment stake in all its projects, whilst also providing the long term management services.
Kajima Partnerships Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Kajima Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo and a global leader in civil engineering, construction and development projects with a history stretching back over 170 years.
PIETRO CRESCINIASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER, SMBC
Pietro Crescini is Assistant General Manager in SMBC project finance department focusing in infrastructure PPP projects in the wider EMEA region including the Republic of Ireland.
He has been with the bank for almost 10 years and over this period has been based in Milan, Tokyo and now London.
BRIAN MURPHYDIRECTOR, NATIONAL TREASURY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
Brian Murphy is a Director of the National Treasury Management Agency with specific responsibility for the activities of the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA), a position he has held for over six years. Before taking up his current position, he held various senior positions during a career of more than twenty years in international banking, including
senior Treasury and Marketing positions with Citibank in Ireland and a senior Corporate Finance role at Saudi American Bank on secondment from Citibank.
He subsequently held senior positions with ABN AMRO including assignments as Director of Treasury and CEO in Dublin and as CEO in Sweden and Director, Alfred Berg Investment Bank. His experience covers Corporate and Project finance, Capital Markets/Treasury, Investor Relations and Credit. He has been in his present role since January 2009.
STEWART ROBINSONEUROPEAN HEAD PROJECT BOND TEAM, SG
Stewart joined Société Générale (“SG”) in April 2014 to head the European Project and Structured Bond team. He has worked in the financial services industry since 2004, previously with RBC and Barclays Capital.
He has worked in various roles including the origination secured and unsecured public and private debt transactions in the infrastructure
and utilities sectors across Europe as well as providing debt advice on M&A and refinancing of large corporate/project debt. These roles included structuring, rating, marketing, liability management, placing and executing debt transactions in multiple formats and jurisdictions.
Most recently Stewart acted as Sole Note Arranger for the M11 in Ireland and is also mandated on the N25 Project Bond. Stewart holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University.
SHANE SWORDSDIRECTOR, RUBICON INFRASTRUCTURE ADVISORS
Shane is a Director of Rubicon Infrastructure Advisors (“Rubicon”) and has 15 years’ experience as a specialist infrastructure M&A and project finance investment banker. He has closed infrastructure transactions in Ireland, Indiana (US) and Spain since joining Rubicon, totalling over €2 billion equivalent. Prior to joining Rubicon, Shane was a Director and
Head of Helaba Bank’s Structured Finance Dublin team. Before then, he was an Associate Director at DEPFA Bank plc. where he gained valuable experience in closing numerous infrastructure transactions in Europe and Asia Pacific.
Shane has advised, structured or arranged over €15 billion equivalent worth of infrastructure M&A and project finance transactions within all the key infrastructure sectors. He has a broad knowledge of structuring M&A and project finance transactions and has successfully arranged some of the most complex deals in Europe, US and Asia Pacific.
