Why Training on BEMS
Bangladesh is moving steadily towards being a middle earing country. Numerous development projects
and more industrialization are going on in line with government plan. The requirement of per capita
energy is growing continuously. Energy is sourced from the reserved energy of our limited fossil fuel
and from the expensive imported fuels. Our reserved energy is reducing every moment with increased
development of the country. Scientist and Engineers are searching vehemently for new energy sources
to fulfill the demand. Demand side management is also getting popular to reduce this stress with
efficient usage of energy.
Electricity is the most common form of energy, used in buildings, in Bangladesh. The government of
Bangladesh has set a goal to reduce 20% energy usage by the year of 2030 with Energy Efficiency and
Conservation (EE&C) policy. Now is the time for learning and maintaining all the available techniques
and measures to control and conserve energy usage. Energy has to be used efficiently without sacrifice
of any comfort or compromise of any necessity of life. Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS)
is the appropriate technology for managing valuable energy.
BEMS is the system for monitoring and controlling of building's constructional, mechanical, electrical
and digital equipment. It provides efficient, effective and intelligent control of ventilation, lighting,
power systems, air conditioning, fire systems, and security systems. The integration IoT (Internet over
Things)-based smart monitoring, such as environmental and energy monitoring, and human
participation have made a significant prospect for BEMS in the framework of smart city.

What is BEMS training?
One of the best ways to improve your energy efficiency is through energy management training – that
is, by making sure your staff is equipped to take the complete advantage of the energy-saving
opportunities available at your organization. If your energy efficiency efforts have focused mainly on
equipment and building technologies, it is time to take the next step and address the human side of the
equation by setting up an energy management training program.
The BEMS is centered in four basic functions:
Monitoring: Continuous monitoring of the sensors’ functions.
Controlling: Control algorithms for the facilities behavior in the building.
Optimizing: Working out the best performance of the system.
Reporting: Documentation of the intermediate and final results.
Benefits of BEMS training:
As the number of commercial, Industrial, institutional and residential buildings are continuously
growing, the number of existing buildings being retrofitted will also increase. It has been found that
improving operational practices and implementing energy-efficient retrofits BEMS can reduce energy
consumption in commercial and institutional buildings by up to 20%. The followings are some of the
primary benefits of BEMS:
1. Reduction in energy consumption in the building up to 20%
2. Facilitate energy saving and cost reduction
3. Introduce energy efficiency and conservation (EE&C) practice
4. Enhance awareness among the occupants
5. Ensure better environment for the occupants
6. Promoting employee engagement and a culture of energy efficiency
Broad-line Topics: 1. Introduction of BEMS
2. Government Regulations and Directions
3. Application of BEMS
4. BEMS Basic Technology
5. Energy management control system applications
6. Applying an Energy Management plan to building system
7. Factors determining energy consumption in HVAC, electronic, and lighting System
8. Control System Basic with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other resources to optimize
your system.
9. Modern Control System and IoT
10. IoT Application for BEMS
11. Preventive maintenance measures in energy management
12. Cost & Benefit of BEMS
