WHAT IS THIS PORJECT ABOUT ???

"MentoREvolution" is a training course about mentorship inthe context of EVS projects. As youth organizations need toengage more in the fight against social exclusion, EVS is oneof the best tools to approach this problem. Still, ensuringappropriate mentorship for volunteers which, for one reason

or another, find themselves in such a situation can besometimes a not so easy task as proper integration of thevolunteers in the community may require some special skillsfrom the responsible from the coordinating organization.Aware of these realities, we have decided to initiate atraining course on developing the skills of EVS mentors,especially the ones involved with young people facing therisk of exclusion.The course aims at developing the participants'skills/abilities on: communication, increasing self-esteem,gaining the trust of the volunteers, problem solving,motivation of the volunteer, challenges of cultural diversityby using non-formal methods of education.Also, an online tool that mentors in all organizations will usein order to exchange good practices and to support eachother in different situations that they may be facing will becreated.

A Facebook group wascreated for allparticipants of thiscourse in this way wecan exchange and getto know each otherbefore attending theactual course.

The project isaddressing to youthworkers / mentors forEVS projects or youngpeople who would liketo get involved in suchposition the future.

We will reimburse 70% of the travel costs for the TC

on the basis of the cheapest possibilities, e.g.

second-class railway tickets, APEX-flights etc.

during the TC and the receipt of complete and

original tickets, bills, receipts, boarding cards

and proof of payments.

Arrival day is 07th of February 2013 (later arrivals are not

possible). Official departure day is the 18th of February 2013

(earlier departure times are not possible).

An emergency phone contact number is given in time by Email

to future participants.

Please note!

1. Any costs for taxi are not eligible (exceptions possible after

consultancy)!

2. In case single persons arriving later than 07th of February

2013 or leaving before 18th of February 2013 any related costs

(e.g. for booked hotel room) will be reduced from the travel

cost reimbursement.

3. Following the guidelines of the YiA program the travel must

be realized by the participants on direct way within maximum 2

days. In case of longer stays or indirect travelling (holiday

travel etc.) there is no reimbursement of travel costs! Here youfind the maximum travel costs for ONE participant per

international airports we can pick you up in theairport directly as it is just 45 km away from the venueof the project.

2. ARAD train station in case you decide to travel bytrain, the city is very well connected with Budapest

train station, trains are going or arriving each twohours.

3. Budapest airport please be advised that in case youneed visa to come to Romania you will not be able touse Budapest as an arrival place because Romania isnot a Schengen state and your visa will not be valid forthe territory of Hungary. In case you do not need visa.

You can use Budapest airport for your arrival and thantake a train from Budapest train station to Arad Romania (it takes 4.5 hours)

In case you travel by car please contact us so we can discusswith you the shortest travel options.

Participants profile

To ensure that project participants will be people reallyinterested of the theme of the project each partner shouldpursue the following:- Selection priority: candidates who are willing to work withthe organization and provide services and mentoring futureEVS projects, they are by far the most interested of the

topics, with a real need for development in the addressedtopics- Selection of priority: at the time of application candidateswho are unemployed or in any other situation that wouldexpose the risk of social exclusion, they are interested insuch development opportunities, both by the fact that theycould make a collaboration with the sending organizationbut also through professional and personal benefits it brings- Selection of priority: candidates who have worked with the

organization, they are interested in acquiring such a skill setto continue in the future the involvement in theorganization's projects.Each organization should send to the training course anumber of two participants.

There are some personal items we would suggest you tobring with you for this adventure:

! Towels, even if there are some inside the hosting place,they will not be changed during the whole project and wecannot guarantee for them. So in case you would prefer yourown please take them to your luggage.

! Photo or video cameras in case you would like to keepunique moments :)

! Appropriate clothing for indoor - outdoor activities, sportactivities and could rainy weather.

! Even if there will be a cleaning lady inside the hostingfacilities we should keep our own places clean and help toclean up each day the common rooms.

! We will try to mix up the groups a little bit to supportintercultural exchange also during the free time. We willprovide also three meals a day for each participant except

the traditional intercultural evenings which each group willprepare by his own. Because of the long period of theproject we suggest you to take with you snacks or otherfood that you may need during this time.

! Intercultural evenings will be organized during thetraining course this is why we invite you to prepare yourselfwith some special activities for this matter sometraditional food or drinks that others can taste would bewelcomed as well as a special prepared presentation on the

topics why should an EVS volunteer choose your country tomake his EVS and what difficulties would a EVS volunteersface in your community.

! The language used during the training course will beEnglish, and it would be useful for participants to know theforeign language at least at a medium level.

You will be hosted in 2-3 people in one cozy room with own

bathroom.Meals will be served in a restaurantPLEASE ALSO INFORM
